    Firmware Wizard or Boot Disc

Which is the safer/preferred method for updating firmware.

For example I got a system with 2 crucial M4s, some storage drive and a raid array on its own card.

Would it be safer if I hooked up the SSDs to an old system and used a Boot Disc to update them?

Or are the Wizards safe enough to trust and hope that my boot sectors stay safe?

The Crucial firmware update will allow you to install the firmware and update software on a thumb drive. The system reboots to the flash drive and updates the drive. Use an older system without a UEFI bios. I used a X58 system.
