Figuring out G.Skill's SNs

If you're talking about 2x4GB benchkits, "relevant" stuff is based on Samsung 2Gbit D-rev, best samples of which are to be found on kits rated 2400 9-11-11 or 2600/2666 10-12-12 (regardless of the maker).

Anyone know whats under the hood on F3-17000CL9Q-8GBZH? Sorry I don't have the serial numbers. Its a 4x2GB kit.

I think it's Samsung 2Gb D-rev, going after this post in the RAMlist thread at i4memory. However, part numbers don't match, it was a F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH kit as shown in the picture.

This depends on age of the kits, older samples will have Hynix CFR, I tested these personally and ICs were confirmed by removing HS

I sold my last two PSC quad kit (2400c8 RipjawZ/ Mushkin 2000C7) recently, afaik the 2400c8 are the only RipjawZ with PSC. will be hard to get a genuine quad kit, you may consider buying two dual kits of same manufacturer and more or less similar bin to get what you want, because quad kits are extremely hard to find. G.Skill for example offtered only 1600c6, 1600c7 and 2200c7 as genuine quad kits with psc apart from 2400c8s Z-Series, and the first two kits are of very doubtful quality

Can't check the serial number on them to be sure, picture says Sept. 2011 on the sticker.

Even if they have '104' in the serial number that indicates PSC, chance of X-series on a 1600C8 kit made in Sep2011 is very low and chance of it being what you're looking for is effectively nil.

Yeah, every now and then you get a kit that has a letter instead of a digit in that last spot of the 4-digit IC code. I seems that I've noticed the letter in kits originating outside of the US.

By the way, that so-called "4th spot" on the IC code may really be nothing more than a placeholder, as you always see either a letter, or a zero in that spot. Or at least I don't recall ever seeing anything else used.

It would be of some importance if you were to bin OEM modules - general trend is that 1600C11 versions (xxK0) clock better than 1333C9 versions (xxH9).
But on stuff pretested by memory manufacturers you're not going to spot any consistent difference between 1333C9 (xxxx150xxxxxxx SN) and 1600C11 (xxxx250xxxxxxx) IC JEDEC-ratings at all.

I can locate these in my drawer, at least for two 2600c10 kits, but this is sure no big help - what I can tell you is that these are quite new, I bought at germany and they are week 19 2014 2500 SN

Any ideas on results? I'd like to get a Samsung based kit but people asking outrageous prices for them on the forums. So if I could get a kit of these with somewhat similar results, I will.

I tested a few settings, 2,00v for one kit 2800 c9-12-12-21 32M, other one does 2800 10-12-12 at 1,65v. Good Samsungs should do 2800c9 at 2,05v or less, excellent ones at 1,95v and below imho. Normally 2v is the magical limit, but I am quite tolerant because IMCs and boards can influence results, my current rig is not too good on Sams. Tbh, I would of of course like to sell you a kit, but with current currency conversion rates of dollar/euro I would have to take more money from you than you would pay at newegg for example and it might be better if you look at amercan forums for good pretested kit

The fourth letter or digit is either a zero or in some countries a letter, this has no meaning in terms of IC quality afaik. 150L are Samsung, dual sided sticks have most likely Samsung D 2Gbit
