Have good hardware, to keep my 60fps in game while streaming, should I overclock?

Hey. I'm new to streaming and want to start. I have really good hardware and seem to be having trouble streaming. Whenever I stream, my fps goes from 60 to 40 in game. Other people don't notice it, but I definitely see a lag when scrolling in game. I run Borderless mode, but see the same results in windowed mode. (I switch windows often). I don't want to use Full Screen mode.

Is it my capture settings that are hampering me? I want to be able to stream 1920x1200 while still keeping my in game 60 fps. I have 4 monitors, but only want to stream one.

    Hardware:
    • -Intel i7-3930K Stock Speeds
    • -32GB Ram
    • -2x GTX 670 OC (Two 1920 24" monitors on each card). Stock Speeds

    Settings:
    -Video Bitrate: 2000
    -Video Encode Preset: ultrafast
    -Video resolution: 1920x1200
-Video Frame Rate- Tried 60 and 30 and 24. Same results.

    Tried:
    • -Xsplit: ~30fps
    • -FFsplit ~40 fps
    • -OBS ~40fps (BUT If I select LeagueofLegends client instead of screen region, I get 60fps. But then it doesn't capture my entire monitor. Just the game. I would like to be able to stream switching to ventrilo/other games/etc)

    Thoughts
    • -Maybe it's my capture settings?
    • -Should I try overclocking? The Cpu? Or should I try the GPU?

My buddy streams his games (last I watched was BF3) on a stock i7 920 and a 5870, I'll find out what he is using and get back to you. I've seen his streams and they are high quality and he says the FPS hit is very minor. I know for sure he said HT makes a huge difference when streaming your games.

overclocking the cpu should help, i do not see why you would ever run it stock since it is so easy to clock without changing the voltage or removing speed step.

my buddy uses twitch.tv and dxtory on his i7 920 and 5870

he really shouldn't even need to OC in order to stream with a rig like his.

    thanks guys.

yeah, i haven't overclocked yet because I had wanted to keep my dpc latency low as I produce music. Going to tinker with overclocking tonight to see if I can see any results.

arnt the multis unlocked on those so it would not matter like changing the base clock, and if you cared about it isnt the 3770k much lower latency. you can also switch back and forth, restarting with profiles is not so hard.

I worked with White Ra on streaming from his laptop at Tt HQ which is a 5870M and a i7 720 QM and it worked fine...

if you are having lag issues or poor playback for users I would check your setting especially bitrate as anything over 1500 would cause issues

and the network we were connected to was wireless 7up/7down split from a old T1 line, so nothing spectacular
This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine..

my brother is a big league of legends streamer with a similar setup..

first xsplit doesnt' use SLI well if at all as far as i know in screen region and game capture is buggy

second.. your resolution is way to high especially if you're trying for 60fps... even 1080p60 won't go well.. it demands a lot of cpu so you NEED to oc that chip a little

We've basically given up on 1080p60 with even just league.. too demanding without a dedicated pc just for the encoding

you can oc the cpu to 4.0 without even knowing what your doing and a decent mobo with clock it to 4.2/4.4 pretty much for you. so bassically go for it
