Australian Company says to be able to provide free 3G internet

A colleague told me about an article he read about small company here in Australia starting a free Internet, not sure what to make of it, I know the concept has been tried before... so it begs to differ how these guys will accomplish it, or if their concept could be use elsewhere in Europe.

We've got "netzclub" in Germany which offers mobile data for free (100 MB full speed, 32 KB/s afterwards). All you get are some ads via text. I used it for my second phone and never received an ad in the time I was using it. It is a 100% subsidiary of O2 and they are said to use it to test their network as well. Thus of course you agree that your data may be used to a larger extent than on other (paid) offerings.
Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks
