Well, I just bought the 256 Pro and an LSI 9207 too to play with. The reviews so far have been good.

    Here's a bench with a twist:

    840 Pro, 256gb
    MSI X-58 board
    LSI-9207-4i4e
    Oyen Digital Minipro external enclosure

ESATA was used to connect the Oyen to the 9207. Although this card is PCIe 3.0 capable, I used a 2.0 x 8 slot. Not bad for external storage!

The REAL question is if the 840 pro will live up to the legendary 830 in write endurance! If/when it hits 5 PiB's it'll really get my attention.

I`ve just installed 840 Pro 256 Gb into my MBP 2011. The speed is amazing: ~450-480 Write/490-515 Read. Disk usage is 100Gb.
