It's really no different than Win 7 as far as that goes. Might be even a little bit better with older games.
Yeah, but I've never used either. How does the compatibility mode work? Is it different than in WinXP? Is it a pain? I want to know the good, bad, and ugly about this OS before I consider buying it. -_- Also what about drivers that only work with XP? Like say I have a good scanner that just doesn't have anything higher than XP drivers?

I would imagine old hardware like scanners would be a problem especialy if using old/original TWAIN drivers that have no modern/later version. I think most games applications that have a 32Bit installer rather than a 16Bit installer should work or should work with a bit of work.
