Is there any known way to disable powertune entirely?

I need to guarantee consistent performance for repeatable comparative tests on bursty loads that are likely to trip powertune. In order to have valid results, I cant have powerine or dynamic clocking be active. Dynamic clocks are easy to avoid, but powertune is not so obvious.

My other option is to go to an older gen card or an nv card of older vintage.

powertune only comes into play with the boosted cards. you can override the whole thing by running MSI affterburn and changing the voltage/clock (even if you change them to stock)

I was under the impression that powertune is a soft-overcurrent protection method.

    boost is newer than powertune.

i thought that powertune only kicked in on the boost cards as it was a driver level wattage control for when the parts got hot.

for powerplay (the idle throttling) msi affterburn fixes it changing states.

powertune appeared during the 6 series, it has nothing to do with clocks or boosting, i would be wondering about this myself (wait, how does it reduce performance/protect the card... i dont think it lowers clocks)

wonder if there's a hacky way to go beyond +20%
