    Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M4A2400C9R 16GB DDR3-2400 Cas 9

My new toys arrived today These sticks are presumably of the same binning/caliber as the Dominator Platinum 2400C9 kits.

They come in a nice compact box.

They come with a fan, although I'm not sure why a kit rated for 1.65v would need one. It looks to be the same as the ones included with certain Dominator kits.

Obviously, I didn't buy these just to run them at XMP timings I will have more results in the coming days.

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I wanted to see how well these sticks could mimic other Samsung K4B2G0846D-based high end kits on the market. First up was to try to match G.Skill's TridentX F3-2600C10Q-16GTXD set, rated DDR3-2600 C10.

Successful HyperPi 32M pass with only 1.65v set is good enough for me

Next, I set out to match Corsair's insane new Dominator Platinum 2666 C10 kit. Unfortunately, it took considerably more voltage for these sticks to run those settings, 1.75v BIOS set.

I'm quite surprised and disappointed that a kit rated for 2400 C9 that can do 2600 C10 on stock volts can't do 33MHz more with the same VDIMM...

I am of the opinion that these days any time a manufacturers release a new product with a higher rated speed that you can pretty much be assured that they have binned the crap out of the chips and very few, if any, of the good chips are going to end up in the lower binned (as if DDR3-2400 is "low-binned") products. Their binning (all of them...GSkill, Corsair, etc.) has become much tighter as they get to the upper limits of the chips' capabilities.

I also believe that if you find some of the older stuff that was once their top-binned, top-of-the-line product, then perhaps you stand a chance of finding something that will match up with their current top-of-the-line release. There are some good Hynix (Mushkin DDR3-2000) and Samsung (Corsair 2133 / Team 2400) chips in older kits.

I don't think they'll do CR1. And I've pretty much hit the limits of running 4x4 sticks, I can get 2800 to boot into Windows but can't run any benchmarks

2666C10 is already pretty good in my book, at a fraction of the cost of the plats

You're right, I remember when 2400 C9 kits were like $400. I should be happy. I just wish I could find some BFR that can do 2400 9-11-10

How does this kit run while using some of the MVG's Samsung presets? "4x4Gb Samsung Tight" @ 2400 2T/1T? or pehaps as a dual kit with "2x4Gb Samsung Medium" @ 2400 C9 or running faster at 2600 C10?

This one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231520 and this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820313235 released around the same time X79 socket 2011 hit the market. 2400 was the top bin and early batches should do ok with Ivy's 2666+

    Awesome kit there Shiranui

Didn't you have some pretty good results with those early Team Group 2400 kits?

The first kit you linked, the GSkills, are a 4x2GB CL8 kit. Are those the ones that you intended to link? I was thinking about 2x4GB or 4x4GB kits of Hynix or Samsung in my post. Those that you linked to, would they most likely have been PSC based, or single-sided Hynix?

Yep, mine is an early batch of Team 2400LV, if 2600+ Ivy already released at that time no doubt this kit will be certfied for it.

All of a sudden, Corsair is the only manufacturer that has 2400 C9 kits at NewEgg. G.Skill's and Team's kits are discontinued. I wonder if they're focusing on the higher speed sticks only now?

Just wanted to add a "naked" shot of the ICs. As expected, they're Samsung D-die 2Gbit.

That's an interesting observation. Will have to keep an eye on it to see how it plays out.

...and thanks for the confirmation that there are HCH9 under the hood of your modules.

Still trying to push these sticks, but it looks like I'll have to give up on 4x4GB clocking and just try 2x4GB.

Just a quick 32M run on my new MVF, not really any difference with it and the MVG since it's the same CPU and sticks.

Well, I was able to pass Hyper Pi 32M at 2666 10-12-12-31 with less voltage set in the BIOS than I was with the Gene, though I haven't taken a multimeter to the board to see what the voltage regulation is like.
