what they are speaking of is detaching without aborting the work units. but it appears he did abort the wus before he detached, so the wcg server considers his machine unreliable.

    0:249:05:30:44 today

11,089 results in progress on my account. If we just assume 0.5 hours per results, that would be 231 days of work. Would get me to emerald plus 115 days. But 0.5 hours per result is probably a little low compared to reality but that is a quick and dirty calculation and I supposed it is worth something.

Now for the next un-Xtreme suggestion ... I think Otis already posted this but it bears repeating ... with werdwerdus and Martijn close but not quite over the line ... if you turn your clocks down the caches we do have will get more runtime which for the WCG badges is the only thing that matters. I've done that a little bit this morning so when the time comes for me to move off bluestang there will be more WUs for everyone else once my remaining WUs time out.

I will have a look at down clocking the 2600K a little.

But that will hurt. It has been running 100% loaded at 4,5 GHz from day one.

    werdwerdus:

If you go My Grid> Results status then at the top right box select valid and the top left box select each rig in turn then note the rig name and the runtime for a wu.

If you then change the top right box to In Progress and for each rig in turn note the number of pages and multiply that number by 15

Changing the top right box to pending validation gets you the number of pendings for each rig in a similar way

You can now build a chart like bluestang's in post 334 which would be an far more accurate estimation

WE ALL WANT TO SEE THAT CHART !!

(if you don't have Office try the Kingsoft spreadsheet among others. There is a free version)

Snow, You want to move 1 of you rigs over to Martijn or werdwerdus? I think you could move HAL9008 over and we'll be just fine...what do you think?

EDIT: Forgot about Pending still out there from Otis...that about another 7+ days.

Everybody: be aware of the completion dates for ALL of the cached wu's before jumping

Somebody please post the BEST procedure for jumping in clear concise steps

I was thinking about that early this morning before work but decided I would wait to see this morning's update ... I'll move HAL9005 tonight when I get home and may tune HAL9008 to use 1 less core (that werdwerdus dude is pushing me hard over at GPUGrid and I need a hair more CPU to really let my GPUs run at their best )

    Thanks for that list.

Down clocking the CPU does help. Lowered it from 4.5 GHz to 3.5 GHz and looking at the time it takes to complete a WU I gained about 5 days run time. And I need that too, as I didn't get any new WU's today. I have 97 days cached for haschioz and 21 for Origin_Unknown.

I just posed a question on WCG about new rigs and getting work.

    Meanwhile I have this:

    Great news.

I have to admit that after I jumped and did not get any work I started to wonder if I had jumped too soon.
