    ADATA Gaming Series DDR3-2400 Kit - AX3U2400GC4G10-DG2

This is another memory preview thread. I'll be keeping this kit to torture, so I'll see it through to the end. However, there is a motherboard and a GPU in line ahead of it, so it might take a little while to develop. Anyway, the kit has arrived, photos have been taken and an initial SuperPi 32M run successfully completed.

Interestingly, when I set XMP, timings were tighter than the XMP profile CPUz reads, so there must be two. In any case, it passed SP32M without issue.

Until I have a moment to get to it, this will have to do. Hopefully it's enough to wet your appetite.

Yaay! I have their younger brothers, AX3U2000GC4G9B. Are those Samsung-based as well?

I don't know, but the reason I included the middle photo was that it appears these have standard (read: possibly non-sticky) thermal pads and screws holding the heat spreaders together, so there is a chance they can be removed quite easily. Rest assured I'll try.

It took a bit of work for me, the thermal tape they use is quite good.

One quick thing to note - the SP32M run above was not run at their rated timings. The sticker says 10-12-12-31 and XMP for some reason sets 10-13-13-31. Of course, I'll set those manually and run all tests at the rated timings.

Ahh, that's better. Rated speed & timings. 1T even. Time for R.S.T. Pro 3 testing.

Looks like Ney's kit might be a bit stronger than mine. Finally had some time to spend with these and I think they're spent. Hate to spoil the review as it's likely not getting any higher, but hey...what overclocker doesn't like sharing what hardware is capable of ASAP?!

    First off, SuperPi 32M.

    SP32M @ 1.65V, DDR3-2600, 11-13-13-35 (2T)

Adding a little voltage gets a little more MHz. These didn't seem to want to go too far over 2600 with these timings though. I don't like pushing over 1.73'ish. Anyway...

    SP32M @ 1.73V, DDR3-2674, 11-13-13-35 (2T)

Now a quick SP1M run. Couldn't get this 32M stable even with 1.75V, so I backed down and ran a quick 1M at 1.725V

    SP1M @ 1.725V, DDR3-2750, 11-13-13-35 (2T)

Last, but not least, we have max validation. For this I went with 1.74V.

    CPUz Max Valid - DDR3-2859, 11-13-13-35 (2T)

    Validation link.

Overall I couldn't be happier with the way these things overclock. Unfortunately I can't seem to find them for sale anywhere, so we don't know how much they cost. They have the potential to be a great value if the price is right though.

    This review published today.

RAM, RAM and more RAM! I love RAM reviews. Pity I haven't had time to write two of the kits that arrived here. You saw those reviews from Lvcoyote and EarthDog, respectively (thanks for the assist guys!). There was time to review this ADATA DDR3-2400G kit and the results do not disappoint. Let's get straight to it and dig into this nice looking set of RAM.
