    Hi CrazyNuts!

Nice info on the unlocked bios!
Just for your info, my card starts at 10% fan duty cicle, so its better to do the range from 10% to 100%.

Another question, unlocking the bios, does alter the fan spin cicle? The asus profile in bios is just great, starts at 10% and go all the way up to 50% i think, stabilizing at 70c. Thanks in advance!

I'll have to play with the fan a bit. I fear that if I set it too low on some cards the fan may not start initially.

For now I can take requests for fan speed settings.

hey crazy, went to try to flash the bios of my card today, downloaded the nvflash you posted from TPU and tried running the .exe as an admin, and it pops up, asking me to press enter a bunch of times, then eventually, the program closes.
ive also tried pressing N to start the nvflash command as well as - to try the update command, but its doing the same thing and closing each times.
am i an idiot or is there a trick to this?

__edit: nevermind, i got it to work, had to run the exe from command prompt.

I just bought last week an Asus 660Ti (normal) and have it flashed for the "new" bios released by Asus to up the voltage and power limit...

But i think it will be possible to extract a little more juice out of her...

    Can you unlock this sucker?
I attached the bios that is on it right now!

Voltage and power unlocked. I left the fan at 10-100. Enjoy!

    Hi!
    Just Flashed the Bios...
    Here are the first results...

From what i see, the asus software is not reading right the parameters...
Talking about voltage, power limit and minimal base voltage or something...

    Any ideas?

    Best Regards,

    Galaxy 3gb GC 660ti

New here but do you think you could unlock the voltage/fans on the 3GB Galaxy, I run these in SLI and have a nice OC but they cap at 1.17 on the voltage. It would be nice to see if I can push them higher. temps don't even hit 60 stressing these things.

    Thanks

    Really nice work Crazy.

This is an EVGA like yours. Can you drop the fan speed min to 15% or 10%? and any other sweet tweaks you deem necessary. Im going for a silent card so keep that in mind.

    Thanks

I'm running an EVGA 660ti SC as well. Mine's not too much of an overclocker though, doesn't seem to want to go past 1215 boost no matter how cool I keep her.

Set fan min to 15%. I could also lower the voltage if you like?

Same with mine really. I thought it was stable at 1250, until I tried bordelands 2 with physx turn all the way up.

I think you really need a non ref board to max these things out.

Thanks for the galaxy bios, the non ref PCB is the only reason I went with this card, that and the 3 gb of memory. as of now before bios flash I am at 1202 on the core and +700 on the memory clock! If I can figure out this NVflash I will let you know how it goes!! LOL! I am a builder and hate programming side of CPU. Thanks again!

everything is fine, i made the same mistake. copy the contents of the nvflash folder and your rom to be flashed inside your user folder c:\user\whateveryournameis. Now use cmd and type nvflash yourromname.rom
    then reboot

Really nice so far, have a look at my rig and the idle results. Id like to bring this fan to 500 rpm at idle and since the fan is controlled by the card i dont have to worry about overheating. The fan is a nexus pwm real silent and its the only moving part in my system.

Actually if your using the nvflash I posted, you can simply drag and drop your bios file onto the nvflash.exe

However sometimes your bios is write protected so if this is the case you'll have to do it from the cmd line

I love my Galaxy 3GB, I can also attest to being very impressed with the cooling.

I'll have to give the OC'ing a run soon and post back here later... thanks for all the info that you've all been posting here!

Hey crazy nutz, Just noticed these galaxy cards are temp. throttling at 70 degrees. is there a way to fix this? My buddy just put 3 of them in his system and the top card hits 70 and downclocks? Please let me know or if its a tweak in the modded bios can you post that.

    Thanks!!

Thanks, I am curios to what his final setup runs with three of these, my two cards run great... I know his early bench runs have been great and he is running 5760x1080. My monitors will be here today so I can see how 2 cards run on 5760 resolution!
