My MSI 660TI PE is also acting strange, it never goes above 102-104 "TDP". Tested with original and unlocked bios. 1280 MHZ core and 7100 memory though, I don't know what's good on these cards yet, I'm kind of between systems right now.

Hey!
@CrazyNutz
I just bought a MSI 2GB D5 X GTX660 TF OC card and used GPU-Z 0.6.4 to export the bios (v80.06.10.00.5e).
I'm not interested in max performance (I just play WoW on 1680x1050) but in a very quiet system.
Could you please unlock this bios so that both fans operate on 20% (minimal) and at max 35% (maximal)?
GPU temperature on 30% is 27 C (idle) and 61 C (still on 30%) when playing WoW so temperatures shouldn't
be a problem.
The manage attachments isn't working for me, so I upped to a free file hoster:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/iqcm0q
Btw, I ran your kgb v0.5 utility over the original file and got this output for the voltage table:
When I unlock this bios myself (and only modify the fan and power values (power is at 110% by default) the voltage table is changed to this one:Voltage Table:
1212500
1212500
12125000
1150000
1150000
11500000
Is that ok?Voltage Table:
1187500
1187500
11875000

Please change my minimum fan speed to 20% (it's 40% now). My card is Gigabyte GTX 660 (non Ti) 2048 MB OC (native). Can you link me tutorial how to flash 6XX cards as well? Thank you.
Here is my BIOS (from GPU-Z): http://www.speedyshare.com/advqR/GK106.rom
PS. I don't want to change anything else. Only minimum fan speed. :-)
I haven't really seen much action in the way of Heaven 3.0 and 3DM11 scores for these cards once they have had the snot clocked out of them, so, results anyone?

Hey Crazynuts, just curious as to how the water block is working out? Also, why the Heatkiller GPU model versus the FC since they are within a few dollars of each other? Do you have a fan blowing over them for the memory also? I have two 660TI's coming in that I will probably put under GPU only blocks initially, but my MB is in my desk and I would need to add a fan to blow over them if they will still need active cooling for the memory and VRM's. Let me know what you think.

Actually I just got around to completing the loop today
Temps are up to 50c on furmark, and about 45c everything else. So not too bad, and we'll below the thermal throttle temps which is what I was going for. It has not throttled once on water YAY.
I went with the Heatkiller GPU block mainly for it being reusable. Also surprisingly the whole card is running quite cool with the exception of the inductors , they are hot enough to make it quite uncomfortable to touch them.
I do not yet have a fan blowing on the card but I plan to mainly because of the inductor temps.

Well I got two of my cards in and under water with Swiftech MCW82's on them. What a difference the cooling can make. No throttling now. I haven't flashed the bios yet, just using MSI AB to crank the clocks up. Not use to seeing max clocks being different of the cards, but I guess that is the luck of the draw. So what's the benfit of flashing the cards over using something like AB to overclock the cards?

I hate to hound you, but could I maybe get an explanation regarding the power limit on the MSI 660 TI PE's? Is the power limit "problem" a real one or is there an explanation? Do you have any more info on this at all? I can't seem to find anything about it via google.
Thanks in advance, you're doing a great job with KGB! And thanks for keeping it easily available for everyone and for all the support with it. I hope we aren't overwhelming you with all the questions.

Hi everyone,
I just ordered a Gigabyte GTX 660 Ti OC (1033 Mhz GPU Core) ... EU version, full code GV-N66TOC-2GD-EU.
If i look on gigabyte's website there is an updated bios version for non EU version, while EU version doesn't have any updated bios... from what i came to know lurking on websites there should be an updated bios that keeps fan spinning lower while keeping the card at same temperatures... now the first thing that comes to my thoughts is that the EU version may probably be shipped starting from the very first lots already with the updated bios?
I was just wondering if there are some tweaks or better bios i may already know to get ready as soon as i get the card in my hands to push it at its best.
Is there anyone with the same card that have some suggestions?

i have MSI GTX660Ti PE/OC . and this is my setup .
this is the max i could get out of my card , do you think with your bios unlock i could get more out of this card .
and thank you in advance

Hey crazy I was wondering if you could unlock my Bios for my EVGA 660 ti SC 2g edition, I am running in SLI if that makes a difference. I don't know why but every time I try to add my 7zip bios with the sites attachment window it just saves it to my computer again. please help
I've recently found that in these latest benchmarks and games, even GTX 670 / 680s are bandwidth starved as they gain much better results with vram overclocks. I'm sure this is also why the HD 7950 / 7970 are performing so much better than GK104.
IMO the 192 bit memory bus is very crippling on these GTX 660s, as is the 256 bit bus on the higher ones.
Ideally they should have had 384 / 320 / 256 bit on the 680 / 670 / 660, but this is what we end up with when a mid range GPU gets overpriced and released as a high end. HD 7900s are beating GK104 for both performance and price now.
Hi CrazyNutz
Could you possibly unlock my GTX 660 Ti if you have some time to spend please ?
It's a ZOTAC Amp! edition @1033mhz
Here is my bios : http://www.mediafire.com/?1xnj2bng88ww3y5 (I've also added checksums)
I'd like to have fan speed unlocked, core voltage and power limit too if possible, I'm pretty sure I could hit more than 1300Mhz, it is already up to 1202-1215 for 52?C
Thanks in advance
Edit : Not needed anymore I've used your KGB tool and it worked flawlessly for me. Boost clock is now set @ 1306Mhz, but it is not stable at all with unigine heaven benchmark... But thoses have always been terrible with my GPU and never allowed me any overclock... While in games/3DMarks it is much more stable, dunno why.

Just used kgb to hex my evga 660 ti sc bios and the results are great! Went from 8830 to 9890 in 3d mark 11 performance mode.
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6038883
Thanks Crazy!
How do you use that kgb tool?
Swapped my eVGA 660ti for an Asus DC II 660ti. So far it seems to hold fine at 1293 max boost/6800mhz ram. I can probably get higher on the ram, but I'm going to run it like this for a week or so and make sure it's rock solid like this. Even at these clocks it maxes at 60C in crysis 3 with the fan at 70%--leading to it being inaudible over the rest of the fans in my antec 900.
Just got a 660Ti today at Best Buy. :p No time to wait for an online order - desperate to get my rig up after the old 4870 finally died. No o/c tried yet, but after being with ATI the last 4 or 5 GPUs, figured I'd try out the dark side.
OMG wot has I done?
Is this EVGA Precision any good?
