    Yes 2800 both 4 & that 2918 screen was both 4.

Think the main settings it don't like/or the RAM don't like is tRRSR & tWTR... think they can boot tRRSR @ 4 but tWTR got to be 5 to even boot other than that everything can run as low as board will allow.

@ Dumo hope you don't mind me messing your Corsair thread up talking about any/all Samsung based kits?

Ye I think 7 in most of my tests was as fast if not faster than 6 its just I was pushing that 2800 run to beat 6.19 & that was the only thing that I could lower. It may or may not have made a difference.

I got a set of the 2666C10 and simply love them, too bad my current Ivy sucks at vcore and IMC. I did a Pi run at 2625 at 9-12-11-21 no problem last night. The binning continues.

I ordered one of the five 2666 C10 kits that were available at the egg at the first of the month and it was delivered today.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3o3avq7vsu51

When I pick up the Corsair box from inside the shipping package I hear a little bit of a rattling sound and I'm thinking to myself...what the heck, should be nothing in this box except a ram cooler and the four modules. Shake it, and it rattles some more. I turned it so that the clear part of the Corsair box is down and a bunch of little screws fall to the bottom. There are 7 of those little fellas used to mount the top light bar loose in my box...maybe more if some are jammed. You can clearly see the screws missing from the top holes on the modules visible thru the clear part of the packaging.

What the heck type of QC is this from Corsair? I wouldn't expect an expensive kit to have loose screws in the box, would you (they are $500 now, but less when I bought them)?

I haven't opened the box yet and I'm not sure I'm going to until after I contact Corsair. I want it on record that they arrived that way before I open up the package. Anyone else ever had that happen to them?

This is the second case I read about loose screws on Dom Plat modules, poor show by Corsair imho.

Took some time to dig it up, but it was on OCAU.

I wouldn't worry too much, just make a video and or some pics, open the package and put the screws back in. Pretty sure it's only the screws fallen out, i don't think the sticks will malfunction because of it. If they do you still have the pics and or video to prove they were faulty to begin with.

Yep, some of those screws came loose on my retail platinums, 8 screws for ea. stick. Need small hex key to tighten it up.

No problem with the kits though

my kit goes to 2900 on all DIMMs at splaves timings, but so do all my other kits. My IMC is limited there, exactly there, it is very odd.

I would like to think it's all in the IMC but for me my chip & RAM appear to be equally touchy & I can't quite decide which one is giving up first.

Having said that I have several kits & they all at least post at the same speed about 2960 is the max so that would most likely point to chip.

My RAM starts flaking out about 2940 then slacker tRRD, tWR help them post higher. Slack tertiary's help keep them stable in windows with lower volts too.

    2950 Straight Boot to windows

No doubt, My platty sticks simply rock and I still have not yet found a match for these sticks in IMC. Last night I was running them at 2750 9-12-11-18 1T at just over 1.84v with zero issues but crank up beyond 2800 and my chip gave up before they did. My set is fantastic and better then anything else I currently have sitting in the rack, anyone notice the price for them just went up like 100.00 since last month.

    Worth upgrading?

    Hi,

I am very curious to see what these new Platinum Dominators are all about but not sure it's worth upgrading. Right now my system is an Asus Z68 Deluxe 2600k rig with Corsair cas 7-8-7-20 xms3 modules (8gb=4x2gb). Like to go 2133mhz but not sure my CPU is up for it with just a Zalman CNPS9900 Max cooler. Also not sure if 1.5v kit or 1.65v kit is way to go?

    Thanks.

Edit: Also you guys recommend 2x8gb or 4x4gb considering stress on imc?

Well, the first link ($360) is actually to the 2600 kit, not the 2666 kit. Those last 66 MHz are hard to come by, therefore, they account for the additional $140 increase in price.

All kidding aside, that $500 2666 C10 kit actually started off at $360 on Dec 1st and there was a quantity of 5 available. I bought 1 of those 5 kits on the 1st. By Dec. 3rd it had increased to $470 and then up to the current price of $500 as of the 5th (by this time there is only 1 kit left in inventory).

I saw a post by someone 6-8 weeks ago that they had noticed a trend that when the Egg either got a new high-end ram kit, such as the Corsair Dom Plats, or a similar GSkill kit, or restocked one that had been OOS, the pricing was usually about $100 less than it would be within a few days. That pattern certainly held true here.
