In here finland i draw 15A 230v 24/7, thats 3450W 24/7 trough my pc's, it is not problem.
Cabling used in walls at homes here is not thin and those cables are rated for 20A 230v.

There is something like this in wall attached to 10A and 16A 230v fuces :
3x2.5 mm² sealed or non-sealed electric cabling for 16A 230v fuces (wall plugs, microweaves, ovens, refigerators etc..)

3x1.5 mm² sealed or non-sealed electric cabling for 10A 230v fuces (lightning etc..)



Thinner gauge wires arent usable in 16A fuced wall plugs and similar things due it would be fire hazard by standards but heavier cabling is usually also used for 10A 230v cabling.

1500w is still alot of power going through a single 20a 115v breaker.

If you had a pc that used all of that around here, downtown that is, you wouldn't beable to even turn on a tv with that on.
Been to a few houses where you couldn't have the tv on along with the (small)microwave.
Old school fuses, sometimes with pennies jammed in, maybe even alu wiring, etc etc.

Whatever though, not really relevant.

1500 watts is not a lot of power for a 20 amp breaker. That's only ~13 amps, call it 15 if you want because of efficiency losses. A 20amp 120v circuit is good for ~2400 Watts. 20 amp circuits are wired with 12 gauge (3.3mm^2) solid core copper wiring, which is more than capable of the power. 15 amp circuits use 14 gauge and if you use too much power the breaker will simply trip.

If you can afford this psu then you can afford to hire an electrician for a couple hundred bucks to bring a dedicated circuit to your pc.

It could be based on same design as Corsair AX1200i, if that is the case then we have here insanely powerfull and efficient psu with low ripple and fantastic voltage regulation.

Not shure what OEM Corsair AX1200i uses but this EVGA psu's OEM is ETASIS what is manufactuerer for industrial grade power supply's.

Edit : Corsair AX1200i OEM is Flextronics so its not same OEM, waiting to see the review.

You misunderstand my point. Many older homes in the USA only have 10A@115Vac breakers in bedrooms or have one 15A breaker for 2 bedrooms. Usually the cables themselves are sufficient for high current--so the issue becomes connection quality at the wall.

I have 220 (most of the time...) but if your house wiring if not ready for xtreme users ......

we use something more, the braker and a braker that cuts for high current draw spikes, very usefull to prevent even a little shock.(nice for kids, not so nice for wifes :P)

You know I'm sure there was another PSU with merge-able rails... Mushkin maybe? I really don't remember but I'm 99.999 % sure that this isn't the first one.
