bottom 3x fan headers adapted to pcie
top 3x fan headers adapted to pcie
firewire and 7th slot booster adapted to pcie

if my counting is correct.. 23x total 12v lines powering just the mobo now.. yeh id say this mobo is finally properly 12v fed

had to use the sata y spliters on the ssds after a couple of raid failures (nothing serious.. the ax1200i sata cables are not ssd friendly) so i gotta order more.. i also need more pcie extensions.. pcie 12v 3.3v turbo boosters by weekend

something you may want to think about,
the 12v on the fan headers may be voltage adjustable by a mosfet or something, so feeding 12 volts there my cause some problem
I'm guessing since it didn't go up in smoke right away it may not be. however just something to consider.

thanks.. haha it wouldve gone up in smoke had i solder yellow to yellow black to black lol.. pin 1 is gnd pin 2 is +12v so i had to inverse the yellow/black wires.. yes i did consider the speed control.. but since im just using the 2 pins i was like it should work just fine.. so before i booted the mobo i turned the psus on and there was no debug led indication that something aint right so i went for it.. i did attempt to power the usb headers but when i turned on the psus the debug led showed 88 and the nb/ram leds were lit.. so i didnt bother to turn on the system.. same with the spdif in (+5v) when i turned the psus on the debug led went haywire.. only the front panel speaker header is +5v powered

well this is an upcoming power mod for gtx 580.. additional 2x 8pin (eps/cpu)

total of 14x 12v and 2x 6pin more could easily be added if needed

so what this means is that each 580 will be powered by its own psu lol yup that means i need a 4th psu

just got 4th 1200i hooked up all good.. absolute silence even at utmost loads

after closer look at the mobo 11x additional 12v will be powering the mobo ala gtx580 power mod and the pcie slots will be properly beefed up.. so 34x 12v total.. atm its 23x 12v since im not using the raid card @ 7th slot - still would like to reuse it.. once all said and done the main psu will be fully utilized by the mobo.. napalmv5 style lol @ mike thanks man i just noticed earlier in your sig

    question
at what point do you get diminishing returns on you mad modding?
I can understand adding 3.3v to the unused PCIE slots, 12 volts are already added via the 2 molex connectors.
adding 12V to the PCIE when your adding the 3.3v makes sense since your adding the 3.3v anyways.
but I'm not sure if your getting any improvement with the rest of the 12v connections.

thanks.. i wouldnt post diminishing returns mods.. the fan headers took the system to another level.. i didnt mention anything since its not for everyone.. someone doesnt know what theyre doing it goes boom.. once the main psu is fully utilized im curios how the system+psu will perform+behave then ill know for sure the returns.. but the additional power mods on the mobo+580 are impossible @ diminishing returns.. look once ive modded all 4 youll see what im talking about

hey guys what up! well last week when i got the 4th 1200i later on i found out that instead of getting the usual 2x 8pin cpu/6x pcie cables i got 1x cpu/7x pcie so that threw me off a bit.. had to make changes.. went out and got 8pin extensions which i thought would work but dont.. instead of cpu 8pin cables.. anyways finally shook off the laziness and got to work and this is what i got so far.. the mobo power boost mod works like a charm.. the psu is running dead cold vs hot as hell before.. very pleased and happy with the turn out

    gtx580 power boost mod

    ud9 power boost mod

one cap at top and bottom

3x boosted evga power boost to pcie

    gpu#1 - main/mobo

    gpu#2 - gpu#3

unfortunately the 8pin extension is a no go at the psu.. the 580s almost went up in smoke.. so i have to get 8pin cpu cables from corsair

    Cool! I love the wiring!

Out of curiosity have you tried adding extra juice to OC mbo despite proper alimentation?

well they dont have cables for 1200i yet so i didnt wait on cables and just inverted the yellow/black at the male/female 8pin connectors and it works just fine

hooked up the bottom cap as well plus 5x fan headers - 2x pcie

    inverted yellow/black

    34x 12v utilized by the motherboard - 14x 12v utilized by each gtx580

    only 2x 12v free @ the 8x 8pin main psu connectors

before and after - gtx580 power boost mod - 4-5 C temp drop

youtubing at the same temp as idle before

startup temps before and after mod

on the 1.5gb air cooled gtx580 5-6 C lower at idle after power mod
