That is quite a sharp looking piece of gear.

    (12) 6Gb drives is a nice fit for PCIe 3.0... Sweet spot for X8 too.

    Any plans for a review?

oh no, we are going to be there but there is some extracurricular benching with LN2 and a few (maybe 4?) RAID controllers. We have 3 1880s with 4Gb of cache and teh 1882ix-12 and a whole stack of SSDs. Are you going to be in the area? this is gonna be sweeettt... we plan on doing some PCMV benching

I hit the 1882i v3 the other day if anyone cares. It's in the consumer format. you'll have to wait till Paul gets his hand on it for the enterprise stuff.

You are going to have to tell him to look at the actual sticker on the controller. If it says Ver. 3 then it is the new PCIe 3.0. In my enthusiast review of the ARC-1882i it shows a close up of the sticker.

    Thanks for that info.

One more question - would it be better to have two controllers over one, sat 2 x 16ch vs 1 x 24ch ?

I need three arrays on my system, OS - Scratch - Storage

    On my EVGA SR-2

    Thanks

    SR-2 with controller, LOL

I sold off my SR-2 because I couldn't get a controller to work with it. It was at least a year ago and a half ago but it ticked me off.

We know that something better is coming very soon and I think it will be better for you than the options listed. We can't talk about it but something really cool and fast is on the way.

Guys, this is not fair, its like climbing a mountain just to get this build and to find that a new mountain has been discovered and needs climbing

I will have to stay with my SR-2 for a few more years

    You guys are such teasers

    Henrik

PS: Already committed to the Areca 1882 its in transit
