That is quite a sharp looking piece of gear.
(12) 6Gb drives is a nice fit for PCIe 3.0... Sweet spot for X8 too.
Any plans for a review?
of course, but only after some Xtreme benching at the Flash Memory Summit, we have some exciting stuff planned!

TT has a booth?
oh no, we are going to be there but there is some extracurricular benching with LN2 and a few (maybe 4?) RAID controllers. We have 3 1880s with 4Gb of cache and teh 1882ix-12 and a whole stack of SSDs. Are you going to be in the area? this is gonna be sweeettt... we plan on doing some PCMV benching

I hit the 1882i v3 the other day if anyone cares. It's in the consumer format. you'll have to wait till Paul gets his hand on it for the enterprise stuff.

on the road to Santa Clara - just cruising thru Death Valley, should hit Yosemite in the early morning...car full of gear and some LN2...Fugger snucked in the car too...should get there by 10am
I'll be at our booth from 5:30 to 7:30, if any of you people want to stop by.
Benching the Areca 1882 together with the new Corsair Neutron GTX SSDs - running PCmark Vantage; incredible combo!!! So snappy fast!
Here is a result all on air:

I think those once r pcie 2 and not the newer ver. 3 but I will have to check with him
Thanks

You are going to have to tell him to look at the actual sticker on the controller. If it says Ver. 3 then it is the new PCIe 3.0. In my enthusiast review of the ARC-1882i it shows a close up of the sticker.
Thanks for that info.
One more question - would it be better to have two controllers over one, sat 2 x 16ch vs 1 x 24ch ?
I need three arrays on my system, OS - Scratch - Storage
On my EVGA SR-2
Thanks
Henrik

SR-2 with controller, LOL
I sold off my SR-2 because I couldn't get a controller to work with it. It was at least a year ago and a half ago but it ticked me off.
We know that something better is coming very soon and I think it will be better for you than the options listed. We can't talk about it but something really cool and fast is on the way.
yes something new is coming

Guys, this is not fair, its like climbing a mountain just to get this build and to find that a new mountain has been discovered and needs climbing
I will have to stay with my SR-2 for a few more years
You guys are such teasers
Henrik
PS: Already committed to the Areca 1882 its in transit

Yeah that is a very nice looking card. About time they put coolers on these.
