Help: Wireless Headphone for father

father is starting to lose his hearing...I tried a cheap Sylvania wireless headphone ($9-15)

unfortunately, this phone resets after turning it off...then takes another 30 minutes to get it to work.

unfortunately, budget is limited too, so nothing extravagant can be had.
need something that works for both his DirectTV and his DVD player...

if anyone has any experience with their own parents and/or family, please kindly share

Wireless headphones are really never better than wired, but it seems like you are in a bind. For under 200 I recommend Sennheiser HDR 180. I am a big Sennheiser believer, and those would be excellent. you buy them to last, not to replace every year. Treat them well, and they should last a long time. Sorry I don't have something cheaper, but there is a lot of garbage which follows the line "you get what you pay for." Not always, but many times quality costs money. If you don't mind a little cheaper in quality and perhaps shorter longevity, you can check out anything from the Sony line.

there was a Sharper Image I saw inside TJMaxx (clearance store) for less than $20. going to try that.
