Thinking about this PSU or the EVGA NEX 1500w that is sort of vapor-ware.

For those who want an english review.

    http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...Story&reid=300

Too bad it over delivers on the power requirements I need for my next pc. This would be on my shortlist if they had something that wasn't designed for an overclocked multi-gpu rig.

Some information from a Corsair rep I found on another forum.

Due to feedback, we'll make available the "Y" style cable we use on AX650/750 for AX1200i users who want to use 8 PCI-E devices simultaneously with 2 EPS12V devices. I didn't realize it would be such a big deal, but I was wrong, so I'll put the product into development. Anybody who buys an AX1200i and wants the 7th and 8th PCI-E cables will be able to contact us at get the cable free of charge.

    Also, an important note.
The AX1200i uses the same modular connectors as our HX and TXM PSUs, what we internally call the "Type 3" connector.

In the past, we've had multiple types of connectors.

    TYPE 1
    • AX 1200
    TYPE 2
    • AX 850/750/650
    TYPE 3
    • AX 1200i
    • HX 1050/850/750/650 (gold)
    • TXM 850/750/650
    TYPE 4
    • HX 520/620/650 (bronze)

Going forward, we will be standardizing all PSUs to use the TYPE 3 connector.

The only difference between an HX cable set and an AXi cable set would be the 24-pin.

We will make this available by the end of the month on our website.

for rigs like my own, 1000+ psu are a must.
I get tired of blow 1000W psus..... (1 or 1.5 years and they are gone).
1kw plus psu are not cheap, and I really like some kind of new features.

The last 1000w+ smps i owned was a Corsair HX1000W and it had dual rail setup something that i still think is safer. Overall i like the digital power delivery but the price is no good i bought my Corsair HX1000w in India in 2008 for about $250 and this is released in the US for $350 after 4 years.

Well, if this was around 5 years ago I might have looked at it instead of my PPC 1200 Turbocool. $400 is cheap for a quality PSU. The Turbocool was $550 on sale back then.

Lower ripple and voltage tolerances, and some monitoring / control options.
Superflower & Seasonic PSUs are still very good, though, it's not a dramatic difference.

well after contemplating whether to go with another manufacturer decided to stick with corsair and instead of just one i got 3x to replace the 2x 1200ax need these 2 to power the backup system anyways

psu #1 powers the mobo (24pin + the 2x molex pcie)
    psu #2 powers the cpu/990x (2x 8pin) + gtx580 + 2x ssd
    psu #3 powers the other 2x gtx580 + 2x ssd

even under load no psu fans spinning.. they do get warm its been humid and warm today.. but its silent!!! silence and no dust buildup and im ready for whatever upgrade cometh

curios which psu gets the warmest ? psu #1

hopefully theyll bring rails control via software that would be nice

That PCP&C power supply is bulletproof. I had one in my old system, with a custom harness...the thing ran like a top the entire length of time that I had it and is still performing flawlessly to this day (a friend of mine bought my old system). Very expensive, but would run anything you threw at it.

yeh but PCP&C 1200 Turbocool probably sounds like a jet airliner at idle while 1200i is silent/no fan spinning at full load well at least on 3x 1200i

I didn't mind the noise level from it, but then again, the noise from the rest of the fans in that system overshadowed the PSU fan by a wide margin. The old system had 3x 92mm Deltas in it...at no time was I brave enough to get my fingers anywhere near them..

well if it wouldnt be that much the psu should run cool @ idle/full load but this psu is the most stressed and the hottest at full load

a third really is for a 3rd-4th gpu.. before ill upgrade to another platform very likely ill upgrade to 4x gk110 sooner

1x 1200ax/i - 3x highend gpus @ default clocks ok but oced is too much stress on 1 psu

proper alimentation for oced multi gpu system

    1x 1200ax/i - cpu+mobo
    1x 1200ax/i - 2x gpus
    1x 1200ax/i - 2x gpus

properly spread out load - cooler psus cooler system and for me silence is just as important since the rest of the system is silent

I had to buy 2 of these after reading JohnnyGuru review, one powering SR-X encoding machine and one gaming machine in same CaseLabs TX10-D case.
    One of these should be more than enough to run i7 3960x @ 5Ghz + 3 x GTX680.

I need just rebuild my SR-X machine since it no longer is going to be used in gaming.
