    Work in progress... TCI K2

For Llano, no overclocking tools were ever released to public...
Yet the ones that excisted were very limited.

I wanted to see if I could change it with Trinity...

    It seems I can.

    Work in progress..

The current "code" is 95% finished but there are still some optimisations to do and features to add.

All of the features shown are adjustable, except the ones that cannot adjusted without recalibrating / training the DRAM (tCL, tCWL, MEMCLK ratio).

Core PStates, dividers and multipliers can be adjusted individually, per compute unit.
DRAM timings are also adjustable per DCT, so you can have different timings on different channel

Built-in offset & loadline trim adjustments work on all motherboards meeting the electrical requirements of socket FM2.

All of the power saving features can be turned off (BApm, SCLKDpm, LCLKDpm, NBDpm, ApmMaster, TDC, etc), so they do not tamper with the settings while overclocking.

Work todo: Display, Video, UVD clocks adjustment, some DRAM fine-tuning parameters (skews, etc), and Pll control.
Adjusting the display clocks especially will help at high BCLK.. Which will be easier to achieve when I add the in-flight control for the Pll...

The "program" will work on all Trinity K-series (rumored) APUs and all FM2 motherboards other than Gigabyte and MSI.
I might make a different version for the non K-series APUs, but the current version is for K-series (again rumored) only.

Naturally I still need to field test the software on some of the alleged K-series APUs!
I have NO clue if the software will work or if any of my information is even correct, until I have tested.

    Looks nice Stilt!

Are you going to make a GUI for it, or will I have to brush up on my CMD skills...?

I get the feeling these Trinity K's are going to be alot of fun...

I too am wondering the reason, but I am guessing it has to do with the electrical compatibility or something? Perhaps Gigabyte wants to do their custom stuff that breaks compatibility?

Since Trinity uses the Piledriver core, are there any plans to do an update to this utility to be compatible with Vishera once it releases later this year?

Everything looks great so far though. This will be a wonderful tool to use.

Gigabyte and MSI boards will be fine, no doubt.
The reason they are not supported is other than physical/electrical, i.e there is nothing wrong with them!

I´ll upload the software immediately after the curtain has been lifted.

Regarding Vishera support; It will only require some small changes.

man, this thread needs alot more activity. Mr. Stilt has been nothing short of amazing with his ability to provide AMD support.

Legend status doesnt even describe what he has given to the community.

Figured it was something a long these lines, as in they probably weren't brands that in the testing labs. Great to hear though

NOTHING is what it appears to be
If you were right ASRock would be also unsupported, but it is not.

    The work continues...

    Since A1 build:

Added support for FirePro A320 APU
Enabled APU telemetry output (for VDD, IDD reading)
TjMax adjustment for CUs, GPU & HTC activation adjustment
Product specific (fused) values now read from "OTP" (FID, VID, SIMD config, etc...)
AGESA core control over-ride, the forbidden SC-mode is available too (bios "support" required)
PLL output divider ratio control between 2:1-72:1 (for ICS 9LPRS477)
Removed the extra delays from SMU operations, the SMU firmware will now acknowledge in real time

I will still try to reduce the amount of temporary data the program creates to make it even faster.
Removing the delays between the SMU operations already made it significantly faster.
Some of the features are somewhat "delicate" so I need to figure out what needs to go under the notorious "chapter 8".

I will probably demo the software on 'FirePro A320' at some point

My guess is about 4.8-5.2 GHz benchable for CPU Trinity and over 1000 MHz at jGPU core OC.

There is not much I can show you at the moment...

Any guesses what is happening on the video?

The software is pretty much completed.

I´ll start writing the manual within a day or two.
Due the vast amount of settings (around 300+, without checking) writing the manual alone will take a hefty amount of time.

There are plenty of improvements since the last update:

    • Clock detection changed to APIC from TSC (worst case accuracy is now <100kHz, compared to x% with TSC).
    • All of the CPU PStates, including the boosted ones are now writable (previously only PState0)
    • Floating CPU, NCLK, MEMCLK, SCLK, MainPll frequencies, the resulting frequencies are calculated and displayed prior writing the changes. No need to calculate all of the different frequencies manually.
    • Safety features: Writing "illegal" clock combinations is blocked (e.g you cannot accidentally violate the DRAM:NCLK rule).
    • Clock source detection (Internal or External Clockgen / Pll), M/N adjustments are automatically applied to the active one.
    • Option to postpone the FID drive, handy for max CPU-Z record attempt
    • CPU Downcore control, available modes: CU1 (Cores 2/3), Slaves (Cores 1/3), Expendables (Cores 1/2/3).
    • Tons of security checks to prevent system crash caused by user error.
    • Check for SVI2 support (to enable Loadline & Offset Trim adjustments).
    • Reading IMC Strength Delta value from fuses (higher the better).
    • Port80 diagnostic message reading.
    • MainPll Range Extension
    • Improved fuse data reading (CPU Pb0/Pb1/PS0, SCLK, NCLK, MainPll, IMC parameters currently supported).
    • Pll window exhaustion warning.
    • + Around 1001 fixed bugs.

It is likely that some of the features need to go under the "limited access" menu, I still need to discuss which ones.

Looking through the screenshots, it looks like sclk is adjustable? Does this make bclk oc'ing and bios raid/ahci setups work? Does trinity/a85 even have the same ahci issue llano does?
Max memory multi is still for 1866, and any more is blck like llano?

Looks awesome Stilt, I have a lot of reading/learning to do when this becomes available. I also need to get to work fabbing my case...

Oh, is this program going to be free, $, or donation kind of thing?

The iGPU core clock (SCLK) is adjustable between 100-1900MHz with the default BCLK frequency, on unlocked "K" APUs.
The maximum officially supported MEMCLK frequency is DDR-1866, however there are higher options available on some of the boards.
On "K" APUs there is no need to touch the BCLK, unless you got some very extra fast DRAM available.

I have not tested the AHCI really, however on Trinity the AHCI issue at high BCLKs can be fixed with a proper motherboard design (as far as I know).

The software is free, however I will not resists if someone likes to make a donation.

The software was originally intended for "K"-series APUs only, like the name of the program indicates (K^2).
Currently it will not support either locked or mobile APUs, however I am not certain if the mobiles are even 'fully' locked.

Unless I am able to aqquire a Trinity laptop or equivalent no support will be added for the mobile APUs.
The mobile parts are configured a bit differently than their desktop counterparts, so some things need to be done differently on them.

Added: INITIAL support for Gigabyte and MSI motherboards.

The program will work in "generic mode" with boards which don´t have a model specific profile.
In generic mode adjusting the external Pll (BCLK) and some of the VRM parameters is not possible.

The first public version will have profiles for following boards: Asus F2A85-M PRO, Asus F2A85-V PRO, Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-D3H, Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-UP4, MSI A85XA-GD65.
