    Steam Summer Sale is back!

    Yee-haw!!
Though I can't see any game or event this time. I think this year it's all about good prices and nothing else.
    Mmm...

Well, now I know why my stocks took a hit this morning. All the traders are pulling their money out of the market to buy games.

It's funny how they don't get the idea that the people who will pay $50 for a game are not the only source of revenue. I'm more than happy to pay $20 for most good games, even if it means waiting. By the time the games hit my price range, the wikis have been written and refined, the walkthroughs are there if I get stuck, and for some games a full suite of mods have been created and bugfixed. Hell yeah I'll wait a few months, sometimes even a few years to buy games. It's not like games go up in price as the years go by (short of a handful of AAA titles like FF7, and even then the ones garnering good money as collectibles are near-mint or sealed original releases, not the greatest hits release).

I also think that getting $10 each for 100 downloads is better than $40 each for 20 downloads. The longer a game is out, the less of a buzz there is to make it fly off the shelves (if there is still enough of a buzz, steam doesn't give enormous discounts - ie: Skyrim [this may change tomorrow, and I may have to eat these words and buy it])

final thought: Steam sales renew interest and bring new gamers to titles that were and still are awesome, but may have gotten passed over by those with less disposeable income.

the best deal I found so far is Hard Reset Extended Cut for only $3.75. I have been thinking about picking that up for a while now because it was made from the ground up for PC only. now I guess i can see if it is any good or not.

Anyone notice that the larger gabe gets the bigger the discounts are?

We should start a feed gabe campaign.

About time Valve finally started the summer sale. Though I don't have any games I need to purchase at the moment, but I will definitely keep an eye out for anything that may appeal to me.

Valve counters EA's Steam sales "cheapen intellectual property" accusation

    It makes sense to me.

STEvil, we need Gaben alive as long as possible

Guys keep checking the hidden gems thread, I think I found a couple more games that were not in the list yesterday.

My friends and I picked it up Just for Day Z, which is bloody awesome.
    Although very very buggy haha.

Spent 10 minutes running from a zombie because everytime I tried to shoot my guy to stop, put away his pistol and throw a road flare.

While I love steam sales, also always check the alternatives before thinking you make a deal...
Amazon often has games cheaper then when they are on discount on steam and the fun fact is, many of them you even can activate on steam.

I was looking at the Super id Software Pack, all the DOOM etc games.

As a lot of these are pretty old does anyone know if they will work on Win & 64bit now without having to go through a ton of stuff to make them work ?

    I see it does here
