    Where is the GTX 660?!

I've been waiting for weeks and weeks now to at least hear/read some official statements regarding the GTX 660. I understand retailers are trying to get rid of the 570's by lowering their price but to be honest they are still quite expensive for what you get, especially realizing how long they've been on the market now. Does anybody know anything about the 660 & 660Ti?

From what I've read online, one chip will use GK104 and one chip will use GK106 with release date sometime later this month? I've also heard of a GTX 670 SE card in the making but of course all this is just rumors. I'm getting really impatient and am about to just go for a 7850 or so..

    Well then..

    http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-g...re-priced-299/

Information from a well know source has revealed that the card would be the last product based on the GK104 core and would launch in early August as indicated months ago.

The GeForce product would be known as the “GTX 660Ti”, previous rumors suggested the NVIDIA would use the 670SE branding though that was false.
GTX 660Ti would also be based on the GK104 core architecture with 7 SMX units enabled, this is the same as GTX 670. Both GPU’s include 1344 Cores however memory would be limited to 1.5GB (1536MB) along a 192-bit interface. Clock frequency would be a bit lower than the 670 so performance deficit would be around 8-10%.

Overall, the GTX 660Ti would be faster than GTX 580 and competitors from AMD’s GCN based 7800 series. Pricing for this part would be set at an MSRP of $299, custom models would cost more. AIB could also come up with custom parts having Vram capacity of 3GB.

I have been waiting for months for the NVIDIA competitor to the 78XX cards, latest rumors seems to indicate a launch in august but i am getting tired of waiting.

Has any official news been released by nvidia?

I don't know about official, but over the past week a lot of the hardware sites have stated that Nvidia will indeed launch the GTX 660 Ti around mid-August with a price close to $300. Should feature 1344 Cores, 1.5 or 3GB versions alongside a 192-bit memory bus (GK104). GTX 660 will feature GK106 with less cores and from what I have read, will be priced around $200-250 with a launch date a bit later than the 660 Ti.

To steep a price compared to the 7870 7870 goes around 250 while the GTX660 TI costs around 300.

I draw the line at 200~250 for a card 300 is steep.

Given the price of a 660 Ti here in the UK (around £260) forget about the Ti and just buy a 670, its only £40 more or so. If a straight 660 comes out it might be the new GTX460. 256bit memory bus and some disabled cores would be a good compromise assuming the card doesn't cost more than £180ish.
