    Exclamation ATi 5970 --> 7970?

    Thinking of upgrading to a 7970 from a 5970 for $380, I mostly play BF3 at 1920x1200 and whatever future games are coming out. Probably wont upgrade for another 3 years or so, is it worth it? Or should I wait?

    My 5970 handles everything I throw at it, but I'm tired of the micro stutter in BF3 and sick of the multi-GPU cards.

    Specs are in the sig.

    Thanks

    get a 7970...

    great imporovement over the 5970 especially:

    memory buffer
    lower stutter
    mid framerate much higher

    Officially the headline performance of a 5970 is a little higher than a 7970. In practice because of the requirement on crossfire often the 7970 outperforms the 5970. But its not exactly an upgrade unfortunately.
