Consumers drive products and product development, just look at the Pontiac Aztek (didn't sell well, stopped making it real fast, also basically killed the Pontiac brand as they never really recovered from the damage it caused them). Unfortunately, lately (meaning the last half decade or so), the consumers have been hoards of dull witted ppl told by the mass media and by social stupidity..(um, I mean) media, they need this new tech to not be left behind. . .this product doesn't have to be the future if the consumers say so.. Also, can't wait to see how many car wrecks/fatalities these stupid things are going to cause in a few years.
