Can't help but wonder if these will be single-sided MFR, like those used in the Apacer Ares 2666 2x4GB kit, or if they will be well-binned double sided CFR.

We need a pic of the backside with the label and version #.

Well mine can pass 3120 on air I am pretty lucky, previous chip did 3174 on air and 3274 on dice...But 80% of chips won't do 3000 for validation, doing memtest at that speed maybe 1% of all CPU's....

I always thought the Vengeance line was targeted at mainstream customers, I don't quite understand why they're releasing a DDR3-3000 kit under the new Vengeance Extreme line. I know there is a Dominator Platinum kit with the same specs already, but wouldn't it make more sense to release it under the Dominator line, even if this kit is using different chips?
The only reason I can think of why they did it, is that it's probably easier to mount the LN2 pot on these heatspreaders ( or remove them completely ).

Which, of course, would void the warranty on those $750 modules...but on the bright side, you do get to keep the ram pot.

Even though high frequency RAM is pointless other than for entertainment, CAS 12 @ 3000 mhz. is the same real time as 1600 MHz. RAM with a CAS of 6.39 - which ain't all that bad considering the 3000 MHz. capability.

    Cpt.Planet has posted a score done with a Vengeance Extreme kit: 1572.2 MHz @ 12-14-14-36 @ 1.70V on air

I wonder if putting them under LN2 voids the warranty as well...

They throw in the pot and hope you get it cold, which in turns would void the warranty. And the pot costs them way less than replacing a kit under warranty...sounds like the type of business plan that only an Accountant would have come up with.

...by the way, have I even mentioned that my occupation is that of a bean-counter???

I think they also have platinum line of 3000. Just that it would cost (a lot) more than than mainstream Vengeance haha

23 comes up before 55 so you can use junk 1600MHz to test IMC.

The pot is more there because users that will buy this kit will most likely be putting them under LN2.

I have two very good 3770Ks, but Alex does your ram pass 3000MHz HyperPi 32m and other tests at 1.65v?

I was actually making fun of the inclusion of a ram pot with the kit...not to mention the $750 asking price...I'll go out on a limb and state that most users that would buy this ram to put it under LN2 ALREADY have a pot.

Hey, now that's TWO points made by Reefa.

Very true, someone who purchases this, HOPEFULLY won't be like "Ehh, I never extreme OC'd, BUT I feel like buying $750 memory to see if I do good, or blow them up.." I certainly wouldn't be that person, unless I had WAY more money than I had sense.. lol

I'm agreeing, MOST (Prolly 90%) buyers will already have their own pot. And I believe his point, it's basically a "Here's a hunting trip with Cheney, we aren't responsible for incidents" scenario. Lol.

And I know some will say "Well, how about the people who don't Extreme OC (Void their warranty)?" Well then why the hell are you buying $750 memory with a CPU on air/water?, because like others said on here, it's hard as heck to find a CPU with that high of IMC, besides the AMD 8510, and 8350. It'd be like someone using an LGA775 setup with SLI Titans.
