    Need advice on Controller Purchase

Hi. Im considering getting a SATA/SAS controller as an alternative to using the ICH10 controller. Mainly because i want the flexibility to use RAID regardless of OS (Linux and windows 7), driver hassles etc.. I also want SATA 3 speeds on my SSD's..

What is the "controller to get" anno june 2012? Is it a LSI 9265 based controller or Areca's new ? If LSI, should i go for a cheaper OEM version, if so, which should i go for?
