Can anyone help me save a photo?

I was at a friends wedding and was shooting video with my D90. I took some photos in video mode and they are very bad if not destroyed; however everybody wants them anyway. I need help un-destroying these images so they actually look acceptable.

i have it in TIFF and .NEF formats if anybody thinks they can do justice to it. I am using Nikons software which includes sharpening and correction but i can't save it in nikons software and im not proficient in gimp/photoshop/paint.net to help

You just have to wait unfortunately, Adobe is releasing a de-bluring tool with their next Photoshop which removes motion blur almost completely, its a pretty amazing tool.

This is what I came up with, but I don't have Photoshop available right now:

Size:	56.9 KB
ID:	127516

    You can further do:
A prettier fade out, with some artificial vignetting using "Lens correction" in Photoshop.
Use Gaussian blur to enhance the couple from the backround even more.
Light the couple and darken the background to separate more.
    Wait for deblurring tool.

No idea, thought it would be included in CS6, but apparently not. It's availability in future versions atm is currently unknown as far as I can see.

Here is my photoshop attempt, but still the blur is hard to handle as well as the low resolution.

    Well I'm late.

Good news is that the blur is in mostly one direction.
I'll take a stab tomorrow too.

Sometimes when a picture has gone wrong you can take a completely different course. Some years ago I messed up a whole series of photos that I managed to take out of focus. I had taken my glasses off and thought the camera was in AF mode and didn't notice that it actually was in manual focus mode. Almost every picture was very out of focus. I took a different path and decided to make a series of cartoon like images. Just used Photoshop, aggressive sharpening, the Poster Edges filter, and a little bit of selective cropping (cartoons need less detail than an in-focus photo). I added some text bubbles and the whole thing really ended up looking like a comic book of the event. Not everyone liked it but some people thought it was very original and I received some really positive words. This type of work requires Photoshop, or equivalent, but it's pretty easy stuff to do.

I only spent a couple of minutes with this, the program is java based and called Unshake. It will not run on on my Win64 so I did this on a linux vm.

    dblur.jpg

I had problems saving... the saved file was 0 bytes, so I took a screen shot, cropped and saved as jpg. You might get better results if you play around with it.
    good luck.
