    Problem with Boinc 7.0.25 x64 client again.

    Darn W.U's don't want to upload on there own and everything seems to be set correctly in client?
    This has been going on since I had to place boinc client on a new drive.

    Event Log showed

    6/11/2012 11:47:23 AM | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site

    Network is working fine and if I do a manual project update everything uploads just fine?
    If I don't do a manual update the completed work units just sit there, pages and pages of them?
    Ideas anyone?

    add </RETURN_RESULTS_IMMEDIATELY> to cc_config.xml in your BOINC data folder.

    i think thats the call

    I'd abort your WU's and do a reset project. It seems to work for other issues I've run into like where each new WU starts to take exponentially longer to complete.

    Actually it's:

    <cc_config>
    <options>
    <report_results_immediately>1</report_results_immediately>
    </options>
    </cc_config>
    and if you don't have cc_config.xml in your programdata/Boinc folder, just make the file using notepad.
    But the problem seems to be in failing the upload, and it backs off trying to upload again, it also happened to me, but on rare ocasions, not like that.

    Thanks for the replies fellow crunchers. I've tried a project reset, didn't help. And even tried to reinstall to drive C: & D: but no joy. The other strange thing BOINC is doing is that it isn't giving me the 5 days of work buffer that I've got it set for? When I did another reinstall to a drive that BOINC had never run on then I got the 5 days of buffer I asked for but since I've had to manually upload all the time I'm back to about a 1/2 day's worth of WU's.
    It's almost as if the problem is with the registry since BOINC would not work properly on Drive C:.D: where it had been installed before. But as stated earlier when I installed to drive E: the buffer was correct, but still didn't upload?

    Didn't have the cc_config.xml file in the Boinc data directory so I just added that, so we'll see if that does anything. Hope that works!

    Thanks again...

    EXtreme thanks, now uploading and downloading as expected!!
    Is there another parameter in the cc_config file that will set things to what I consider normal status i.e. upload's when there is a couple dozen finished W.U's ?
