    Upgrade ARC-1231ML to ARC-1880?

    Hi everyone,

I have an Areca ARC-1231ML RAID card with 4x Intel X-25M G2 SSD's in RAID0 and 6x 1.5TB 7200RPM disks in RAID5. (Yes, I've gotten spoiled by the 1GB/s+ speeds). Anyway, I'm running out of storage on the RAID5 array and am getting new hard disks (obviously Sata 6g).

I'm wondering if I should take the opportunity to upgrade the RAID card too, or if I should keep waiting. I know the 1231ML does particularly well at keeping random access latencies to my SSD's nice and low, and I'm wary of whether the 1880 series does as well there. Anyone have any experience with the 1880 with SSD's? Any competing products I should be looking at? (e.g. LSI)

    Thanks!
