    Question New Build

Hello everyone. I am not as educated on hardware as most of you so I am looking for some expertise. I am a PC gamer but more importantly I started college 2 semesters ago. I am trying to build a machine that will last for the next 3-5 years. I built my last machine about 3-5 years ago and the specs are now starting to barely meet the min req for the games I play. I am trying to keep this build around 1.5k at most (which I know is a lot) and create the best machine I can. I don't mind leaving some room for improvement on things like on ram that I can just add onto later but for now this is what I am looking at getting.

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

EVGA 02G-P4-2678-KR GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

CORSAIR Professional Series HX750 (CMPSU-750HX) 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

    Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770K

    G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C10D-16GAO

Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

And I am going to use my current CD/DVD I have now because no need to buy a new one.

    O/S will be Win 7 Ultimate 64.

Please understand my hardware knowledge is limited but I would like to hear what you guys have to say. Is this a good machine and are there improvements or conflicts I can fix? If these are good buys I have to do today for some rebates.

Thanks in advance to any help/advise.

Looks good. I dont see need for such a high end motherboard. There are many offerings that have very similar features and potential in the $150 range, especially since you are sporting 1 gfx card and 1 hdd. Maybe an asrock extreme4/6 or a midrange asus p8z77. Put that $100 towards a 120gb SSD and it will change your life

if you wanted to cut money down the asrock extreme6 is a better board and it is $160

and like west said an ssd is well worth getting a cheaper MB, or even cheaper ram since you do not need 16BGB for anything and you can go cheaper even if you wanted 16GB for similar sticks and get an SSD for a much bigger performance boost that you will see all day.
