New Toshiba SSDs with 19nm flash coming in August

It looks like Toshiba is getting into the consumer SSD business in a big way. Any idea what controller they will be using?

    THNSNF

Can I buy a vowel? ThinSniff? ThenSnafu?

Hopefully they come up with a better name by August.

Ao1, thanks for the link showing that they apparently use Toshiba's own controller.

The specs look good, except maybe the high QD 4K write numbers are lower than most of the competition. But that particular spec is not important for most users.

It will be interesting to see how performance holds up when the SSD has been filled to 80% capacity, steady-state, and under heavy write workloads.

Intel should be putting the final touches on their 20nm nand before too much longer...SSDs are gonna start getting real affordable soon.

Could be an interesting few months ahead, new controllers (this one, Marvell, LAMD, ?), availability of 19nm and 20nm NAND....
