M4 is the way to go, I wish all rads would adopt M4 as the standard screw, but there are still quite a few 6-32 and a few M3 out there. 6-32 works ok and more readily available stateside, but a more coarse thread and not quite as durable. M3 are a cross threading accident waiting to happen.

+1 All my rads are tapped M4. I bought a box full of M4 screws from Fastenal that I cut to needed length.

I would agree. But I am not sure how many people have their own taps.

Well tapping holes by hand ,Tapping M4. Not easy ..

    end result

only 1440 holes to do ....

there are going to be a few marks on the rads (little scratches) how ever im doing my best to avoid them as much as possible. Just hope my tapping set holds up to doing this amount. Im going to supply enough screws to do push pull in M4 but only for normal fans not slim line ones.

Im not going to tap the side mounting holes.

I had a hell of a time trying to find screws to work with my Thermochill TA1203, since I needed to do push / pull.. of like 10 hardware stores I went to, they all had M4, some had M3 + M4, I found 6/32 screws in one store but they were 2 inches long, I ended up buying those and cutting them to length with a Dremel.

Please for the love of all that is mighty.. M4 standard, I can only wish..

Put a strip of insulating or masking tape along the face while you tap them, thatll stop the scratches .

Certainly. Or could get a tapped rivet and just snap in rivets, pop pop pop. Might be a bit quicker.

That is the first batch of rads tapped, I need to re tap the 1/4" BSP fitting now as the powder coating needs to come out of the tread on them. Ill have to pick up one though as my tapping set doesn't have 1/4" BSP. I have tested fitted all the 30mm screw and every thing is perfect on them.

Got a few blisters from doing this but Meh thats life.

No 1 off the production line

360mm , quad pass, m4 tapped, re tapped 1/4" Fitting, Powder coated. Each rad takes a extras 2 Hours to complete after its comes to me plus a extra flush with ultra pure water. All tested with fitting and screws to make sure every thing good.

They will go on sale as soon....

now whats a good way to bust these dammed blisters ... blood hand tapping what a nightmare ..

Take it no-one picked up on the dual-sliced quad pass theory then, or have we not progressed that far yet? O_o

Hey Marci, good to see you alive and (im assuming) well dude. Its been far too long! Just tried to pm you but you have messaging disabled...

Is it really a decade since we registered here? Where the hell did that go???

    Sorry for the OT!

PS: Theory and improvements all went out the window when manufacturers realised double thickness and bling was all that was needed to reel people in... Innovation died with the PA160.

TBH Marci making them in the UK is no longer viable. All so a certain company tried throwing its weight around with claim less threats. You should go down and say hello to steve . PiLsY we were trying to work on improvement but bah all the bull from certain companies and there reps are just not worth the effort nor time.
