    and considering the 450w psu, i know you can swap out for newer hardware like an IB and 28nm gpu if you ever wanted.

    Have the same briefcase, been sitting in my closet since 2006, with the intention of doing something similar. Tell me, what LCD did you use - luv it that you just bolted it with the original Vesa mount

    Good going, keep us posted - nice and simple, and very effective- one of the better briefcase mods I've seen!

    The monitor is a Viewsonic 19" Model VA1912WB with the bezel removed. It was not working and headed for the trash before i intercepted it. I opened it up, and replaced three bad caps on the power board. Good as new.
    I was very please with how well it fit in the case too. It is mounted with the vesa mount, also the monitor has four (two on each side) pre-drilled/tapped screw holes that I used to secure it. You can see these on the sides of the lid.
