Looking at getting a low F, 35mm lens for my D90. Can i get thoughts on the photos that i took with each of them and thoughts on the lens themselves?

I think both lens are good. If you plan to upgrade some day to full-frame, then 35mm f2 AiS isnt bad choice. But its manual focus only, problem for most ppl. You can try 35mm f2 AF-D too, supposedly better than AiS. 35mm f1.8 AF-S DX doesnt have much issues, only slight distortion and bit of CA, otherwise fine and cheap lens.

The only lens I have that compares to that is the Canon EF f1.8 50mm. I couldn't live without that lens... It does things that my wide angle can't and is a great portrait lens with excellent bokeh. The 35mm you posted looks to be similar in terms of IQ.

The 35mm 1.8 DX is the better lens. None of the lenses are really bank breakers so I wouldn't factor in a future FX upgrade into the equation.

i would go with the 35mm f/1.8 its not a macro by any means but you can get some super close up shots, it focuses fast, and is better than the canon 50 1.8 in terms of image quality from what i have experience, and i have owned both.
even used the nikon 35 1.8 on my canon gear last year for a while.
