    Thoughts on tt TR2 600w W0388RU

i need quick thoughts on this PSU if anybody has them

i am in need of a power supply that can push 128watt cpu load + 175 GPU and 188GPU

im ballparking that i am pulling 430w off the 12v rails total

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153114

This PSU fits the bill on paper and is on sale for 49.99 locally

    but reviews are disconcerting

If you can possibly avoid it don't go cheap on PSU...It is the heart of the system. and get something that can power you rig with EASE

    I need something that can push my 3770k + H100 (128w) my 5830 ( 175w) and my 5870 ( 188w )

right now the H100 is powered off the same rails as the GPUs which is too much ( ball park 430w. PSU puts out 12x16 12x18 which is like 408 tops)

I need something that can handle the roughly 430w on the 12v rails.

I need it asap, need it reliable and cheap. put 500$ into the 3770k system and ive put that same amount into added accessories just to keep it up and i cant afford to keep throwing more money at it.

Right now my rig is only crunching halfway due to the power. I want to go to Frys after work (local 98007) and find a psu that is cost effective and can handle this load.

Get a name you trust like maybe antec or corsair if you really must go to fry's. I'm thinking that a 650w single rail would do it but if not single rail then pay attention to which leads are attached to which rail. some models put all the pci-e leads on one rail which for a dual card setup with all 6 pin connectors would be 300w so 25A minimum.

If you can hold off for another payday then get a seasonic like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151107 or better still http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151088 which is one that I have and that is a great price for it. Notice they are single rail so none of the fuss having to load balance.... they have the right connectors and for the xtra $10 you get a gold rated unit to save a little elec.

I have run 2*5870's and an i7 920 with the x-650 although I had to turn off 1 core @4.0 to bring the power down to 660w. It was like that for a month....24/7

It may sound costly but with PSU's it is worth paying for the quality in my opinion. ....better to pay the $$$ now than to lose a rig later when the cheap psu dies.

Stay away from coolermaster ...I killed 2 of their big psu's folding at 80% load

    I think this might be $119 after promo if I read it right;

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...m-_-17-151-087

The one you are talking about... Individually each rail can be loaded to 40A but together the amount will be lower because 160amps x 12 = 1920watts so have a care about what you attach to each rail

ya. but this one was cheaper and does the job. ive laid an extra 500$ into this computer as it is and i dont have the money to keep doing it.

besides i went to frys and asked them "why does it say 4 rails of 40Amps when it only has a total output of 62.5amps?" they told me its because it is only bronze rated and therefore not efficient enough to actually put out 40amps on all the rails, and that a good PSU has fewer rails with higher Amperages.

I kinda just walked away after that
