Since this was meant to be a max score challenge, the 200mb thing is a little iffy, but errors aren't good...
Anyway, I haven't given up on this yet (yes, I'm pretty bored).
I've actually been playing with this since the original post...
I swapped my mem out for higher freq and looser timings but after alot of work I can't get anywhere near my initial results with this settup.
Here's what I got with the 2133 RipJaw-X (@ 2300) after alot of testing. Looks like your right Zeus, timings are more important on this bench!
I tried upgrading(?) to beta3, but performance actually dropped...
For those who tried it too, and lost the B2 version, I found it here:
http://www.tweaktown.com/news/24103/...a_2/index.html
WinRAR is software I actually use, and never had any problems with B2...![]()

I've still got the 8120 but it runs so hot that for 24/7 this chip is the better choice (+50mhz)...
Without a doubt, those GT's offered up better scores @ 7-7-7 than the RipJaws @ 9-11-10 reguardless of the freq difference.
The thing is, the GT's can be a little iffy @ >1950 CL7, and the RipJaws are an 8gb kit...
Guess I'm just getting old and looking for a really stable rig.
I think I'll settup the Sabertooth with the 8120 and the GT's on the bench and give it another go.
It'll have to be air cooled, but with this short benchy it might be OK...
Haven't really played with the Saber much since it came back from RMA anyway.
I really liked that board!
BTW: Don't call me a pussy bro... 9881 ain't all that impresive, you might just get spanked!

Dave

Nope... I've got it settup on the "Pizza Box" bench with the Sabertooth right now installing Win7...
Pretty sure it'd a killer chip on cold but if it got broken I'd have to be there.
Zeus: Actually 9881 is pretty impressive...
I doubt I'll get it tonight, but you calling us pussy's did light a fire under my butt...
Give me a little time to get used to this board again, I might be able to beat it.

My 8150 is decent on all cores, just no stand out 8 GHz cores when cold
Of course, I didn't use PSCheck last time so that's up on the to-do.
A lot of guys giving FX upwards of 2.1v, I can't kill my stuff so I stop around 1.95v for CPU-Z. I did bench 3D at 1.9v though, kinda high.
I can probably get about 6.8 GHz for WinRAR with 2250 7-7-6-19 on my 8150. Will that be around 12K?
I wonder how high I can get winrar on Phenom II X4.
WinRAR B2 seems to like more cores, so I'm not sure how an X4 would do compared to an 8 core FX, reguardless of the better IPC on the PHII...
I'm an admitted AMD fan, so hopefully WinRar is a sign of things to come with multi-core tuned software.
TBH, if you get a hair next time you go cold. I'd like to see some scores from a decent X4!
Sooner or later I'll at least try Dice. I've been saving this 8120 for cold...
It just sucks that it's 74f here and it's 3am.![]()

Hey Zeus...
I spent a couple hours Friday night setting up the Saber/8120/GT combination and getting a feel for the board again.
Then I spent ~5 hours today re-learning what this combo likes...
Geez, I need to get a frikken life, (at least I went out last night and watched my friends band play).
Anyway, it's not a serious spankin, but I managed to break 10k with Barr3l's 200mb rule..
I had to crank the A/C down to 68f, but this was done on AIR (pretty impressive in my book)...
Here's waht it took:
This 8120 doesn't like voltage at ambient temps, it was a delicate balance!
I'm just happy to know that >10k is possible...![]()

Pretty impressive for a pussy! Hahaha. I bet the secret is in the Pepperoni & Mushroom pizza box.I have no A/C here so i'm not sure i can do anything right now as temps are a bit high here right now for some proper benching.

That pic is just as awesome as the result DaveGG!
Unfortunately for me, the temps around here are soaring in the range of 95-98f so i cannot squeeze more out of my rig..

Zeus: What kind of pizza box are you using?
Seriously though, I'd say that tRCD is killing you. I got much better scores by tweaking memory rather than core clocks.
As for system tweaks, I just ran it in "diagnostic" mode.
Beep: If you've got mem that'll do 2250 7-7-6, you should be able to beat this pretty easily with an 8150 ~5Ghz.

First I need to find the 9913 bios for the CHV...
Otherwise I'll be wasting LN2, I have to get 32M in for Team Cup before I can play around with WinRAR.
Priorities are CPU-Z and 32M, then 1M and if LN2 left then WinRAR I guess but I don't have a bios where I can disable specific cores that I need for validation/superpi.
