    Samsung rorary help

    Just bought a samsung rotary for cheap but it didn't come with any cables/current relay/start capacitor etc... There is very little data about this compressor on the net.
    Just thought one of you guys might give me an idea of what it would take to get this this to fire up. Thanks.

    are there some letters on the electronic connectors?
    then try:
    S=running capacitor (N wire to the cpacitor and behind the capacitor to S on compressor)
    C= L1
    R= N

    That has the specs, but nothing on wiring.

    There is nothing like that marked on the terminals, thanks
    I will do a resistance test, I have few capacitors lying around and cables.

    Think I've figured it out. I did a resistance test on the terminals, I know what are common start and run, and having browsed some other threads have an idea how to connect the wires. Have also got hold of a capacitor, only thing I'm not sure is about a thermal cut out device aka a klixon I think, have a feeling the compressor originally was fitted with one, not sure if I really need one.

    Yeah should have one. Grab one for a rotary that also runs r407c in the same application, and you'll be good.

    For me 220v would be a PITA. Your going to have to pull a circuit or bench in the laundry.
    Jesus is the remedy

    Why Ron?
    If you use large enough cable to avoid an issue (not cheap extension cord) you can simply splice two separate breaker circuits by testing for ones on separate busbars in the breaker box.
    Drag an extension cord from another room to your bench room, and check with multimeter the AC voltage from one cords neutral to the others. If you can get 220, then they're on separate phases.

    Donesies.

    Of course you can clean this up into a little project box, etc to make it a big safer.
    Though drawing a 220v from box isn't that hard either

    I don't think he realized you were located in the UK.
    In the USA we have 110V and so using a 220V compressor adds an extra step.
