    Masterg's 3770k

tired of updating my situation inside other threads where it doesnt belong so heres a new one :P

3770k has been stable in terms of the ssd yet power is fluctuating with 4 computers in room + other stuff. Put my 3770k and my e3, combined pull of 258watts, onto a small 625VA UPS so that the small power blips wont effect them anymore.

Transfered my 3770k from my beat up antec sonata 2 into a TT V3. the TT V3 has 2 120s on the top, 1 120 on the back and 1 120 on the door. My H100 cant fit in any of those positions without hitting the motherboard. its ridiculous. If i put the h100 on the top 2 120 slots, it hits the RAM cause the motherboard is at the top of the case. if i try to place the h100 on the rear 1 120, it wont fit because the h100 pipes are hitting the top of the case, both directions tried. if it sits on the door in the designated 120 slot, it hits the psu on the bottom of the case =\ had to zip tie it out of position on the door.

The door is the best place for it to sit now, but now it blocks any chance of me adding my GPU to the setup. spent over 700 on this setup so far and cannot keep putting money on. i have a dremel and a carbide tip, but i cant cut through the steel of the sonata case for the h100, and im wary of destroying the V3 for similar result

The only other solution i can think of is to take my main desktop out of my Lian Li PC-V1000 and put my 3770k inside of it. Getting the 3770k out of the sonata and into the V3 was bad enough. took 3 hours and the computer i pulled out of the V3 isnt even running. cant imagine what a mess it would be doing it to my main desktop

sounds like a call to tech support is needed. SSD could be bad.

it is. i dont have money to keep dropping on these things. it was 625VA/375watt. when i did the calculations, that was good enough for my 3770k: 128w and my E3 1235: 115w

but i shut down my q6600 and moved over the GPU to 3770k.

After a few minutes, this created a very very loud constant noise coming from the UPS and took me 10min to find the manual and learn how to reset it xD

(im sure the neighbors even heard it)

Will the rad fit on top with the fans mounted on the outside in a pull config? That's what I did with one of my smaller cases. I just transferred my 3770k H100 cooled rig into a Corsair 500R though. The case was basically designed for the H100.

btw... my 3770k rig is pulling ~157 from the wall @ 4.4ghz/1.225vcore. All other settings on auto.

when i was upgrading the firmware i was thinking about putting it on the top. but i realized that the meshing on the top was not large enough to feed the outside fan power cables. and that the power cables would: a) need a newly drilled hole b) need an extended to go through the pipe holes in the back c) go through the door or something.

i figured it just wasnt worth me trying

Sounds like some case MODDING is needed!

I always used these tools with my dremel to cut holes in steel cases

    Cut through steel fairly easily.

I finally just got a hole saw for my drill and it cuts through any case like butter. Cut the hole for the fan then cut little notches with a jigsaw for the wires or hoses.
