slaske6 Its amazing you have FAmily Jewels as your avatar. I just watched disc 1 the other night. Im a scott fan.
FYI guys on MVG. looks like shamino gave us a new bios with a setting for Spi.

    M5G 0086

Added SPI Booster option, enable to see if can boost superpi times slightly

    http://www.datafilehost.com/download-d9563a08.html

***yikes. its doing something but its tightening something a bit too much. I can't pass pi at my old settings.

**again.. I think i got a dud mvg. something is so fishy about this thing. I'm sending it back. now when I set up 5ghz and do my settings(note speedstep is disabled) i get into win. my mem clocks are correct but its showing cpu frequency at 3.5ghz. i reflashed to a different bios etc. its still doing the same thing. the only tthing I can think of would be that I have my ac blasting cold air in to a 4x120 rad h20 and condensation is in the socket. regardless, my times are crap and I think I need to get a new board. hey dino/zeneffect what is the best bang for buck gigabyte board?

IM capped at 35x I guess this is a known issue on z77
    Look:
    http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47721

I will get another mvg but in the meantime I want to try another board.

have you guys messed with this one?
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128543

or should I play it safe and get this?
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128544

I have the new asus mitx board at work. I'm gonna set it up tomorrow and see if I can compare and see if its the mvg or something else. dumo I cant wait to see your MVF results.

I am on Z77 Extreme6, anyone out there that has one and can throw in a shot? Oh and I have had two terrible IMCs... my run is 8-11-7 1250mhz but terrible subbies...

just point me to the cheapest GB board that can clock as good as the more expensive ones and I'll buy it. the mvg is already in the box going to Rma tomorrow.
I am going to try some 32m on this thing tomorrow. i just want to see if I can get better times at the settings I had on the mvg so I can compare.

I think the issue was with your settings and OS from the start. If the multi is stuck at 35X it means corrupt EC, you can ask for a BIOS chip or X-ship if you are within the US.

As for your settings, I did offer to help but got no PM from you so there's not much I can say to debug from here at this point. When you get a board back from RMA the offer is open. Efficiency wise I know we are on a par with everyone else out there and maybe even faster in places if the right settings are applied (though one has to balance the IO according to the DIMMs used). If the board were truly slower I think there would not be many entries under 6m20s.

Raja, we think it IS his board that is slower.. but exactly that... HIS board not all boards. RMA is a good idea, but also wouldnt bios flashback over ROG Connect possibly fix it before shipping off the board?

i've wasted loads of time trying to stop these program errors but finally seems ok after i raised vcore 0.09V.
been quite hot weather here and i've seen this message a lot.

my PSC is weak on primaries, subtiming ok. have to use 4 sticks to try and get into the game

btw my tREFI might not be a meaningful number.. i just doubled the auto setting.
goes up to 65535 but don't think it affects performance above ~16k, maybe lower.
not had stability to test performance much yet.

No initial issue looked like settings. Corrupt ec can be caused by bad flash but manifests with multiplier locked at 35. Needs new bios chip or rma.

Why the 4x2GB? And very effecient run indeed....

Bothers me a bit, using another board, but OS should be just fine, CW can be optimized, but almost identical timings - exact same frequency on cpu/ram, but my time is anotherr 6 seconds worse.... Will try another board soon...

the MVG is in the box. just wanted to test this little mitx board I got for my work rig and see if I can rule out that the mvg was bad from the start.
dude. this thing is so ridiculous! I loved the H55N-USB3 mitx back in the clarksdale days. I think its so rad of asus to make that extra extension for the power. i just reinstalled os and doing my tweaks now. I have the trident kit in there right now.
so far this is what it looks like.

Because 4 sticks of ram faster than two it's gave me about 2second, but I have no memory which can do 2600 with 4 stick (((

Oh damn, I did not expect that!
I only got 2 sticks of PSC, however I do have 4x4 Samsung... Would it make sense trying to get those up in speed?

Pff, seems I both have to check a few auctions, and try some more ICs, doing IC's for a review anyway, wont hurt to include more.

    Cheers!

PS: I honestly had no clue that 2x full bank didnt occupy all interleave, a new change?

The interleaving is "all", it's just that you are giving the memory controller more banks to interleave with more DIMMs. The advantage of interleaved access is that you incur fewer page closes and misses. The rest comes down to reordering.
