Finally success. Crunching for more than ten hours atm at 4.6Ghz@1.28v and have not passed 50c, hovering between 45-48c (21c ambient). Cant be happier

You can always have your door open to cool your CPU more .

Apart from joking, your cpu seems to be exceptional...

What did you do finally ? Did you lap the IHS lip, or just change paste to something better ?

Going to build new watercooling this week and i?m planning to do this mod on my 3570K. The only thing i can get quick is COOLLABORATORY Liquid Pro , will it do a good work u think? Should i just place a small piece in the middle of the die and then work it out until it covers the whole area? Looking forward to tempdrop ^^

Is that a memory code? Because if it is, don't give up yet. I have personally had this problem with a delidded Ivy and saw a couple others with the same problem.
For most chips, remounting solved the problem. I think it has to do with uneven pressure due to a small alignment problem.

Don't worry to much about a very small scratch. I have seen horribly misfigured chips on overclock.net with the gold traces bare that still worked fine.

Put on your IHS again. Might be bad mounting if without IHS.

Code 55 is definitely memory related. I've been binning 10 sticks of samsung ram and I get it 30+ times a day while testing

My maximus gene v + 2500K and dual channel works, when i pop in the 3570k only single channel works. The 2 scratches i manage to do must have something with mem to do.....

Not a good comparison but seems that Liquid Pro is just slightly better than Liquid Ultra.

    Liquid Ultra:

    * LinX for 7 hours with MVF

    Liquid Pro:

    * LinX for 1 hour with OC Formula

Both tests were done without IHS and ambient temp @ 33-35C

Fellas, I delided my 3570k. I just have some CM thermal fusion on it now. Load temps are about 5c lower. I plan to get some liquid pro, one question I have does the liquid pro cure/harden?
I would really like to have the heat spreader stay in place as I regularly move CPU's from board to board. I know I can simply glue the HS in place but I'm also concerned about the life of the liquid pro.
I don't want to glue the HS back down If the liquid pro will need to eventually be replaced.

Hmm? Perhaps I should use some super thin double sided tape

I got a code 55 when I mounted my delidded 3570k with CL LP TIM. The chip wasn't dead I just had to get the right pressure on the mount to get it to work right.
It scared me though. The trick that worked for me was adding a layer of CL LP on the block area making contact with the die. I used the same liquid pro from the die... just rubbed it over and then gently mounted it. With CL LP TIM you don't need much pressure. I got the mount down now and I have no errors 55 and the chip is running the best it ever has. This is an early chip batch that I got at release day. It ran very hot till I delidded it.

I also added some Fujipoly Extreme thermal pad around die (.5mm) for support and to help cool. It's the best performance I have had so far.

No IHS. Direct contact between die and DT Sniper water block.

    Mounted

using a EK TRUE 115X back plate for stability.

Looks like my delidding experiments have lowered my average temps per core bv 31.25C on my 3570k.

That is a huge decrease in temperature IMO.
