The GPU-Z screen doesnt really mean much on its own.. you need to list what clock your card boosts to under load. The boost listed under GPU-Z is only a guarentee, all cards usually are running higher.

Heres my settings, and I managed to loop 3x heaven runs twice and it was completely stable with <70 degree temps to prevent throttling:

I only got an average GPU unfortunately, only 1250 Mhz which the majority of GK104s are capable of, but my ram was stable in heaven up to 7350 MHz, but artifacting in 3D mark 11 until I turned it down to 7200 Mhz (still really good).

    3Dmark11 - 10124 overall score, 10029 graphics score

Vantage - P42441 with GPU Physx, P37202 with CPU Physx, 36204 Graphics score

    Max settings heaven 3.0 @ 1080p, 1267 points

The KFA2 was only £35 more than a reference card, worth it for the cooler alone if you plan to keep it on air, but the Gigabyte and Asus cards have better coolers and lower temps due to having direct contact heatpipes.

    _______________________

I decided to make a couple of videos of the installed cards this time:

    And screenshots:

The blue PCB is a letdown, but both of the only avaiable full length PCB and custom cooled versions on launch in the UK had blue PCBs unfortunately (Gigabyte and KFA2), and the Asus non top with reference clocks was £11 more on pre order, so I went with this KFA2. It also came with a free GPU keyring as a promotional offer

Just started overclocking my eVGA GTX 670 last night. Only the GPU so far, memory still stock, was stable in Heaven benchmark with 140+ offset. This was good for a max of 1279MHz on the boost clock in Heaven. Load temps during benchmark stabilized at 74C at these settings, and did throttle back 10-23MHz once over 70C. This eVGA card is the reference cooler, and standard non-SC version.

    Thanks mate,
Any way - It was as I swapped for Asus DCU II, clocking worse (1304MHz), but much quieter, and cooler too.

Put my DCU2's in.. bumped to max power level in MSI afterburner and havent touched boost yet. Card 1 does 1254, card 2 does 1293. Card 1 runs a bit warmer than card 2.

All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.

I got the evga FTW edition. Its should be here in the next hour or so from UPS. I'll uninstall the 6950 drivers and get the new drivers going and post some results.
    EDIT..

I got the card. I'm finally on it. anyone have some pointers as far clocks go just to start out? I'm using the evga precX tool. what exactly is boost and how do I control it? I got an error right after heaven finished 26 and no score.
this is all new to me. all i did so far was set my voltage all the way and my fan to 100%. any tips to get me in the game would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks.

I tested my DCUII and max i could get is 1260 on core running heaven all maxed. Havent tested ram yet. Normal oc for a 670 card, but its dead silent, even running fan at 70%, at an open case 30cm from my ear

Not bad, that 3DM11 score makes me consider grabbing a GTX670 sooner rather than later as its a little over twice the score of my GTX460 so the £300 or so might be a worthwhile investment but I can't help feeling £300 is a touch steep for a GPU thats so cheap to make.. if it was £270ish I'd be all over it.

That 3DMARK11 score is low, I only did that run as my first test before really pushing the clocks further. I spent most of my time running Vantage and scores were increasing pretty nicely with increase in clocks. I haven't hit a wall yet, just ran out of time last night. I didnt run 3DMARK11 with the highest clocks I ran in Vantage but will do so tonight.

The above 670 GTX 3DMARK11 score is 176 points higher than my overclocked 560GTX Ti SLI best of 9945.

Will spend more time on 3DMARK11 tonight to see how much higher I can go on air.

Was going to get a 680 GTX but I am not dissappointed at all with the Asus 670 GTX DirectCUII

Hmm.. well you have a little challenge then. I have a odd 1GB GTX460 I've had kicking about unused for a year or more, if you can crack 12.5k in 3DM11 with your GTX670, I'll buy one

Unfortunate. The GTX670 could turn out to be rather limited then. We'll have to wait and see what happens over the next few months with driver updates.

Depends on the drivers and if nvidia have any performance left to unlock with the new GPU or if its a "thats all she wrote" story. If it turns out to be the latter it'll be a shame really.
