Anyone have any experience with this. Looks like a sweet motherboard. I have one L5640 incoming - thinking about sourcing another one.

That's a good thing too, I can't imagine the cooling it would take to overclock two of those furnaces in one system. (Not the L5640 of course, nice chips im jealous)

I've had good luck with asus dualie boards so far. one was finicky and wouldn't POST if it was warped even a micron, but i think it's because I subjected it to some abuse :P

if you're getting a good price, I'd say go for it.

Fingers crossed, CRAZY price Might take two JIC (im kinda into /6 cpu configurations)

My main reason being that if I build crunchers I have 4 places where I can keep them - without paying for electricity - im basically donating the machines to my relatives to have them running 24/7/365 with them having kick-ass machines and me not having to worry about powerbill growing out of control.

Had the Z8PE-D12X for a long time. No problems with it at all
Just a thing to note with z8na-d6 it only supports up to 95W cpus.

I have found the MB to be very solid as it is built to be server class.

    Few points to note:
    - as already said above Supported CPUs is up to 95w (check website) - L or E's are okay
    - BIOS does not offer any OC options (you only get CPU Turbo) - multi and clocks are locked (you will be okay)
    - ATX - fits any case
    - ATX - standard PSU with 1 8-pin 12v

I did have a little experience with not exactly that board but a similar board. An Asus Z8PE-D12, it wouldn't play nice with the A0 ES chips I was trying to run in them. Stock everything and it kept giving constant kernel panics or BSOD's. I finally gave up on that combo and dumped the board.

I might get one to replace my dead s7002ag2nr - depending on how much i can get one for

would it work well with a pair of L5630's ? .... you know, special ones
also - does the board have back plates? doesnt look like it from the pic

    and only 24 + 8 ?? is that cool for 24/7?

Well, Lambdatek has 1 left for £240.........

It works great with 2 E5645's (80w) so it should be fine with L5630 (40w). It does have CPU backplates (fixed to MB).

24 + 8? Not sure what that is..... if you mean VRM phases then Yes is it fine.

I think 24+8 was meant as 24pin ATX + 8 pin EPS power connector. As the board is meant for below 95W CPUs this should be sufficient to feed them.

My L5630's are ExtraSpecial which is why i ask as trn mentioned a slight problem and i mention the 24 + 8 because most dual xeon boards ive seen have a 24 + 8 + 8 setup
