so who's the top dog on the block these days?

top dog = best block...on the block...see what i did there? see...? haha anyways been a while since i've done an upgrade.

specifically i am looking for the best block for my particular setup i suppose since my new 3570k is coming in this week. currently i have an apogee xt rev1, a XSPC RX360, and a swiftech mcp655. that is all that is in my loop at the moment.

i've seen that there is now a rev.2 to my block and then theres the apogee HD. neither of which is worth the trouble or money for the extra 1-2C, especially since i'd have to drain my loop again.

is there any block that performs significantly better? (for my loop)

I did a small research before buying my CPU-370 from koolance. I don't know if there are much better blocks then this one...
    PC:
    MOBO: Maximus VI Extreme
    CPU: Core i7-4770k
    RAM: 2x4gb Dominator Platinum 2133

I'd go with the Supreme HF rev. 6 over the Apogee HD; although they preform similarly the HF is much less restrictive in comparison.

    For flow = 5NOZ ($90)
    For Temp = EK-SHF#6($70)
    For Value = Raystorm ($50)

Really the difference in the blocks, is about the same between different TIMs that you can use. If your going flat out for temps EK-SHF#6+Indigo Extreme, otherwise Raystorm+Phobya HeGrease will be the cheapest option and still be within 3C of EK+IeX.....

Yeah, there isn't much difference between the top and bottom. I use a Apogee HD in one machine and a Koolance 370SA in the other and they both do a great job.

Stick with what you have - cost doesnt justify the gains.

It does seem like a block purchase is more about looks than performance, as everything is so similar for the most part.

hmmm perhaps i'll just keep it for now then. seems like at best i'll gain 2-3c with a new block. restriction not an issue until i decide on a gpu, if ever.
