    DDR3 3100Mhz 1T on upcoming Asrock Z77 mobo

Lots people care about the ability of memory overclocking with Z77 chipset now .

Just tried some memory modules what i have .

3100Mhz 1T is available with upcoming Asrock Z77 mobo under air cooling .

2933 memory ratio is bootable under aircooling .

But if u want to boot from 3000 memory ratio , u have to put cpu under cold . It will be much easier .

I am talking about the maxmium memory frequency , so loosing the third party subtiming for sure .

    Testing hardware

    CPU : 3770k ES
    Mobo : Asrock Z77 ??????
    Ram : Gskill Trident X 2666 & Team Group 2800

    1. 2800 Hyperpi 32M passed , CL11 13 13 35 1T 1.66V

not every 2666 kits can do 2800 hyperpi 32M with 1.66v only , some of mine need 1.7~1.75

    2. Maximum 4dimm 3070 CL11 13 13 35 1T 1.8V with my kits , 3080~3090 is hard to capture screen under air cooling

    3. I only have 2 pcs good teamgroup 2800 module , it can do 3100 CL11 13 13 35 1T under aircooling .

Ivy bridge has very strong IMC of memory overclocking . U can do 2800 easily if ur memory module is capable of it .

Comparing the overclocking ability of 1dimm, 2dimm , 3dimm ,4dimm , which almost has none of difference on this Asrock upcoming mobo.

But the 2800 modules seems very limited , because of the failed rate of memory chips is very high .

It is sad that i sold my old BBSE and PSC chips . It is time to look for it again .

I thought IMC was better off being above ambient to reach higher ram clocks on Ivy, hope to try it out myself tonight, or tomorrow (depending on when my CPU arrives)
Hope my PSC will do 1500mhz+

    Oh and.. NIIIIICK!!!! DDR3-3100 is NOT = 3100Mhz, dont do a HIWA/Pt1t.

    Is it Extreme6 or 9?

Hope the CPU will arrive today, but.... Ram cannot be better than IMC, it all comes down to.... Will the IMC play, or...
