Dumo, any chance of you selling one of those 3770Ks - the one that does 5.4/1.47v or better?

I need more enthusiast league points.

L224C370 on water, IHS removed and TIM replaced with Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra. This is the 4th cpu I'm trying and the best so far (previous was L221A999 and L224B254). Max temps under Prime95 are 78C.

I can do 5.1 GHz at 1.55v (temps around 80C) and 5.2GHz at 1.66v (temps below 85C) but i didn't want to push it.

I'm very envious of all of you who can reach 5.3 GHz on water or 5.2 GHz with less than 1.5v

@Dumo: is that with Hyper Threading disabled? Edit: nevermind, you said you're using SS cooling which explains 5.4 GHz @ 1.47v

    Guys,

I haven't read through the entire thread, but uhm... how are normal and OC temps on the current batches of Ivy Bridge CPU's ?
(The above temperatures seem very good to me i think?).
Has Intel changed anything in the coolant solution they are using?

I just picked up a L226B517, can't see any results on this thread. Anyone know how good it is?

    I have a i7 3770k @ 4.5ghz HT 1.15v I can run IBT 10 runs pass.

But temps are kinda high almost reaching 60c.

Should i push for higher clocks or would that risk damaging the chip?

Good chip there,60c is little for ivy bridge.I would go with 1.25V and see where you end with. Also you can consider removing IHS and replacing stock TIM with some liquid ultra or pro, that would give you at least 10 C lower, most likely 15-20.

So are you saying even on later batches Intel still didn't change anything to the coolant solution?
Or are they perhaps affraid to run into cold bugs like they did with some early Core 2 series?

From testing a few 3770K I found out that most chip imc walls on air are 2850/2940/3070ish and beyond depending on ram, usually cold can't help pass the wall.

High imc chip doesn't necessarily translated to high core Mhz on LN2.

Thanks for info Dumo and actually i searching some good chip for IMC and abit good core around 5GHz with low Vcore for using on motherboard review
    not focus for subzero

on Thailand market several chip are made in Malaysia and all from i have tried around 8 chips at 5GHz almost need high Vcore around 1.5V+
for benching that with water cooling and it will impossible for 5GHz on air or full stable on water cooling as well

+1 dumo ...i use rams in air zolkorn so i think this chip have 2850 wall...anyway i don't go beyond 1.65 in ram core . and i'm pretty sure that with cold or better cooling this chip run 5 ghz with less 1.35...with antec kuhler h20 620 ( dual fan ) boot 5 ghz and enter windows ( not pass) at 1.33 vcore on bios. 4.8 Ghz are usable & bencheable @ 1.28 vcore on bios

Aha thanks for details Hersounds and actually 1.45Vcore it okay for me but like i said above now i only have 1.5V+ Vcore for benching here
and one of good chip in my hand now it need 1.39V for 5GHz but only Spi32M single thread can't bench for 3D and this chip 3218B Costa Rica

I have managed to get my 3770k 4.6 @ 1.295v on water. Is it worth pushing this any further for gaming? Gets to max 77 deg C.

WOW Very nice sample... Low voltages and strong IMC!
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.

It seems that even at 4.6 1.29v was linx stable, it wasnt very stable in borderlands 2. Always crashed at the start. Any suggestions what i should do?
