    The private (read free) beta ends on the 10th, so I think it's a bit late to try and grab some but you're welcome to try: http://hpcloud.com/

    lol. We actually have Hyperthreading turned off since this is a MSSQL server. They are 4870's. Not sure what the difference is. They specs are the same as the 8870.

    Is there such a thing as a 8 socket board? This server achieves 8 sockets with 2x 4 socket boards linked.

    yep, its a super micro board with 4 riser and each riser holds 2 chips and 256 GB of ram
