1st Loop need a little assurance

    Hi All

So im taking my first steps into Liquid cooling, been building up to it for a while now, slowly gathering parts etc.
I was hoping you guys and gals might be able to help me with a couple of questions im not sure on.
Im not after crazy temps, just looking for a nice start into LC

    Part List so far:
    i7 920 - Raystorm Block
gtx 470 - Ek Copper Block
Xspc dual Res with ddc Pump

First of all im looking at The magicool 2x140 slim Rad, it would fit nicely into the to of my case ( 650D )
I want to to know if it would be able to cool 1 I7 920 and a gtx 470. Also what are some decent quiet fans to bolt onto it?

Secondly i wanted your opinions on loop set up, here my attempt at using paint to describe what i though would be ok. :P
would this be easy to fill / bleed etc?

Yes the 470 is not a very high wattage unit. You'll be fine.

    Thermochill X-silent 140mm
    or Noiseblocker PK's

If you lay the case on its back, OK for filling. This is a pretty common setup.
Just remember that you WILL have to empty your loop as well, dont forget to have at least a T at the lowest point (i use T connector blocks + a ball valve, very convenient).

    24/7 running quiet and nice

i would run the loop the other way, that way it will be much easier to bleed. pushing bubbles against gravity is a pain and you wont get much passive fill.

and you should be fine with stock but if you want to overclock the 470 it may not be a good idea since they had a dieing problem and can suck up a huge amount of power even though they are ~225W or so at stock gpu only. im not sure on how much that can handle but i think that it was 200W per fan of 140mm so overclocking will not be that great overall you may want to add in a single fan rad on the back fan port if you are affter clocking.

    Thanks for the reply's guys
I didn't even think of putting a T line in!
Im looking at my block for the gfx card which has two caps for blocking the side you don't use, instead of doing that could I run a short line out of the bottom for empting the loop?
I was not planning on overclocking the gfx card, didn't know the were prone to killing themselves though :O

    Thanks again

I think the temps are ok , I hope all the air is out of the loop.

CPU idles at 35 centigrade , and the graphics card is 32. That seem right?

    Thanks

Nice temps indeed, provided you managed to keep it quiet enough That's the real challenge !

    24/7 running quiet and nice
