memory for a maximus V gene?

    G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C9Q-32GZH
    9-11-11-31

    or

    CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000) Desktop Memory Model CMT32GX3M4X1866C9
    9-10-9-27

both are cl9 kits although the corsair timings a little bit tighter

I dont really understand this 'made for z77' marketspeak that the gskill tridents carry. why are they better than ripjaws z?
this would be for an ivy cpu. theoretically limited to 1.5v for ddr3 but people are pushing rams up to 1.75 on air.

The "marketspeak" infers that the kit was designed around the Ivybridge platform - in other words, the PCB and ICs used work well on Ivybridge. If you plan to overclock then IB specific kits will give you a smoother ride.
