    VTX3D 7970 X-Edition - 7 instead of 6 Phase reference design!

    Hi fellows!

    I did it again:

I tested everey card at its own under air! Just 1.05 VID!They seem to be really selected!
I was sick of waiting for a good custom gtx680. Tested reference ones and jetstreams..all are ugly considering OC!

What you can see at one of the photos is the additional phase! I think there might be a lot of fun this weekend!

fingers crossed...to see 1400 in tri-fire under water!

That kinda looks like 6 + 1 to me. The phase on the left is for the memory?

BUT... what's under the Crossfire fingers?

Very nice board. The Sapphire Dual-X 7970 OC board also has 7 phases, although not as many caps as this VTX3D 7970-X Edition.

    Bring... bring the amber lamps.

    Yes it is the same!
The cards are rocking! No results right now. I need to renew my win!
But these cards can go 1125/1600 with just 1,05v in trifire through heaven in 1600p all maxed out! Great cards!!! I love them! After some bad experiences with two gtx680 reference and two jetstream I'm sick of nv for now!

looks like 6+1 to me too, the farthest north phase in the line of 7 has different output capacitor arrangement, they usually keep the output filter the same design for the same output. After the rating of the inductor for the last phase is 0.17uH, while the 6 other inductors are all rated 0.15uH, that top most phase int he line is deff for memory i think.

perhaps over the the left is PLL? I didn't know modern GPus used a switching power supply for the PLL, but perhaps they do.

Looks pretty cool though, still more than the refernce.
