    My GTX580 story

I just wanted to share my awesome luck with everyone. I've been waiting for a damn GTX 680 to show up since about a week after the release and its been OOS and impossible to find. I even bit on a reference one on ebay for $550 plus shipping. I continued watching eBay and found this awesome deal I couldnt resist, a GTX 580 with an EK waterblock and EK nickel-plated back plate. The guy who sold it to me had 3 of them in SLI and was selling 2 of them so he could buy furniture! I bid his reserve price of $300 plus shipping and won it.

This things a beast, installed Precision X and clocked to 1000MHz/2000MHz/2300MHz at 1.163v without a hitch.

This is how my upgrade panned out:

I sold the Radeon 6850s for ~$100+ shipping each, and since my 6850s didnt have reference PCBs and I couldnt get a full cover block, I think I saved money and gave myself a little performance boost while keeping it more aesthetically pleasing. Now I can patiently await the GTX 780

one of the 580's I got took a 900 mhz EVGA SSC FTW flash with no hiccups the other one does a 850 Mhz, pretty happy with them, so much so that I decided to spring for a Ivy rather than a GTX 680 considering I fiddle with MMO's more than single player games.
