Excellent to see this thread. My P8Z77-V PRO arrives tomorrow. This is my first foray into the Intel world in 15 years (when I was 15yo). Does the V PRO ship with the latest UEFI firmware or should I upgrade immediately after getting it in hand via usb?

Could have been an update since, so check and if the shipping build on your board is older, and if need be update to the latest:

Is there any way that I can set tRC timing in Asus motherboard?
I have a kit of Crucial RAM(Tactical Elite 4GBx2 1866 CL9) that's been tested running fine at 2133/9-9-9-27 with tRC=47 on Gigabyte Z68 M/B but wouldn't run stable on my P8Z77-v Deluxe and my previously owned P8P67 Pro.

If you increase tRAS it will create a similar effect to having a larger tRC. tRC at the bare minimum is tRAS+tRP. If the tRC value is smaller than tRAS+tRP the IMC should auto default to a larger value. For the Z77 boards, I will ask if we can have it unlocked, but will need to check the static values first.

That's awesome! Looking forward to seeing new Firmware with adjustable tRC.
By the way, i tried several combinations of tRAS and tRP to make tRC=47 but it's unstable or no boot.

No promises, we will test first and if no gains for performance then it may not be added.

If it can run Crucial kit that I mentioned at 2133/9-9-9 like on Gigabyte M/B can then it's definitely performance and reputation gain.

    Just in time

Recieved M5G last night along with much talked about Samsung ram to test along with GTX2 and 2200Mhz Adata. Just awaiting Ivy Bridge release to begin testing and ease back into the benching game

    hello,

i had a blue screen under windows after 5 mins of 5ghz stress test. since then i cannot overclock, even after clearing CMOS, i tried to roll back bios to previous version (801).
no effect... my system is working fine it's just that it does not take any mutliplier modification into acount anymore.
just as if my cpu wasn't a K anymore...
    (Z77 sabertooth + 2700k)
i'll try your new bios and keep you posted

Means the IMC is probably topping out with the DRAM timings you are using. Use looser DRAM timings. Start off with Latency Boundary set to 14 and work down. If you get "55" at Latency Boundary 14 the IMC is tapped, though you might get around it with CAS, tRCD and VDIMM.

Shouldn't known stable P67/Z68 timings be similar to Z77?

Latency Boundry is all ready at 14, I got it to work by loading the loose PSC profile and keying in the tighter primary timings I was looking for, and viola boot, I think it has to do with auto setting secondary or tertiary timings a bit to tight when loading the preset memory profiles.

however I did have to loosen my timings on PSC to 7-11-7-27-1T to get them to boot/bench stable.

6-9-6-20 on BBSE is not happening and unfortunately no hypers to test on this platform with sb cpu atm, but not expecting miracles.

The layout is optimised more for IB CPUs. Also latency boundary applies offsets to the timings for you, if you adjust yourself then 14 for Latency Boundary is no longer 14....

    -Raja

so if I change primary timings and leave Latency Boundry at 14, it will not be 14 since I altered the profile?

    thanks again Raja

    Hi,

Don't know if you could give me any suggestions however I have P77 Sabertooth and 3770k.

Was working fine with orignal bios then I updated to the newer released bios and CPU turbo overclocking options are limited to 35x, 4x 4gb shows in SPD checker but bios only sees 1/2 ram and megaraid 9260i card which was in the bottom pci x 16 slot and running at x4 now does not show. Also the onboard graphics are no longer working. I flashed back to the earler bios but the problem was not resolved. Also tried reseting the bios with the jumper but to no avail.

Any suggestions? Thanks very much advance

Edit also tried the 1050 bios with no luck

Sounds like same problem as the user here had. Here's what he did to fix it:
